the last spin cycle won't spin or drain

  • dana572 Dec 06, 2008

My washer is not yet 3 years old.

It spins but doesn't drain fully. I have to run two extra drain/spin cycles to get enough water out before loading into dryer.

    VERY DISAPPOINTED IN THIS MACHINE!

Hello,
Your pump is more than likely shot!

Defective Lid Switch
Check lid switch for proper operation. Check the switch for continuity. If it is found to be open, replace the switch assembly.
Defective Water Pump
If the motor is running and water is not pumping it could be a defective water pump. Ensure the tub to pump water hose is clear. If so, replace the pump.

Defective Motor
If the motor is not running, the pump will not work. Most washing machine use a reversible motor and it is possible for the machine to agitate and not spin or drain.

LG Tromm WM2277 leaking from back bottom

The last spin is the final Emptying phase. There has to be a leak somewhere in the exiting water route. All tubing and the water pump along with all clamps will need to be checked for integrity.

Dishwasher not emptying

Hi, I have a coulpe of question's to start off, how much water is left at the end of the cycle we're talking about and how long does a typical cycle last ? 2-3 hours or 2 hours & less. Has there been any changes recently with plumbing or hot water tank etc ?These are just a couple of factors which will go a long way to finding you a solution. I look forward to reading your reply. Found machine with water in it

If machine was empty at end of last cycle, replace the inlet water valve, as water is seeping by, causing your water in tub situation.

Check pump is not jammed or pump / drain filter is not blocked , if so clean /free and re-try , may not require any parts . refer to handbook for location of filter .

The wash cycle runs and runs.

Most diswashers have a complete cycle that lasts over an hour. The machine fills with about 1.5-2 quarts of water, rinses the dishes for a few minutes, then empties the water, then fills again with new water and rinses for a few more minutes, then empties. This is to get a good bit of the looser gunk off the dishes, and to soften up any other stuff that has dried on there. Then the machine fills a third time, the soap door pops open, and it washes for a much longer time to hopefully dissolve away pretty much anything left on the dishes. Then it empties, and does a rinse the soap off cycle, and usually a final cycle that rinses again with a little bit of rinse agent to help them dry quickly.

The whole process uses about 2 gallons of water.

My GE Front load washer (WBVH6240) has an odor that smells like mildew in it. If the is left closed the odor is really bad. Do you know how to fix this or what is comes from?

run a empty cycle with bleach on whites/ sanitize. clean boot (rubber gasket at door) with bleach or other cleaner inside especially at bottom, make sure 3 holes at bottom are clear.
this may take multiple cycles to rid of odor.
For maintenance, you should wipe excess water from boot after last load, and check lower drain holes. Once a month wipe boot with windex or other. and run cleaner cycle (empty) newer machines have a special clean washer cycle. (6240 doesnt).
Also clean your drain pump filter at bottom front behind access panel.
If boot is really bad , replace.

Bosch classixx 1000 washing machine - stops on spin

Washing machine stops at the spin cycle - light flashes. Have to drain water out manually. Happened last week and was then able to run an empty rinse cycle. Machine worked normally for another week. Same problem today but have had to drain water manually from the drum after trying an empty 90 wash and rinse cycle (both stopped on the Spin and flashed). Any ideas? Thanks. x

Leak coming from bottom of washing machine

It might not have totally emptied during the last cycle.  Try laying the hose where the water empties down.  The level of the hose needs to be lower than the water level to be able to drain.  Make sure you have a bucket to empty in to.
