Element TV remote control

I have a 26 in. Element which I just purchased. I cannot get the remote control to scroll channel up or channel down. The channel # has to be punched in manually.

I have the same problem. I did notice that if i'm on the "air" antenna, the problem doesn't exist. Just on the cable antenna

I have same problem. I don't think it's the remote b/c if you try to change the channel on the tv using the buttons ON the TV. you get same result. Must be with the cable tuner.

Our Vizio TV came with the same problem and my husband just figured out how to fix this... Go to menu then TV at the top and go down to skip channel. Uncheck all boxes and this should solve the problem. Hope it helps.

Why does my 26 insignia do the following without touching the remote: volume up and down, changes channels and menu screen pops up

It could well be your remote control has a problem. Try removing the batteries from the remote control and see if the problem goes away, if it does, try new bateries on the remote controller, if that does not work you may have to get a new remote controller

What is the Remote Control Code for FLX1510

taken from their support f&q section word per word

"try the following codes 10019, 0178, 10178, 0030, 10030, 0835, 10835, or for Dish Network try 627, 659 or 505. For Fios TV (Verizon), try the code 3264. These codes may not work on some universal remotes. If there is another code listed for Element Electronics in your universal remote control guide, please try that code. Refer to the Remote Control Guide under your TV’s model number for more information."

Tv does not respond to remote commands

You need to isolate the problem.
1) Unplug the TV for a few seconds and then plug it back in.
2) Operate the TV with the buttons on the TV. (Channels etc) I presumed you have scanned in the channels.
If no problem found then do this for the remote.
Step 1- Pull the batteries out of the remote and leave them out until Step 4.
Step 2- Press and release each and every button one at a time on the remote control until every button has been pressed and released at least once!
Step 3- If your remote has slide switches, you must move the switch to each position then repeat the button pushing in Step 2.
(When you're done, be sure to put the slide switch in the correct position to operate the unit the remote came with!)
Step 4- Put the batteries back into the remote, being very careful to install them correctly.
New batteries should be used if you're not sure about the old ones.

Now try the remote to see if it works. If it fails you will need a new remote.

26" TV is inop

repost
Gateway was sued Class action over LCD's and Plasmas they sold over a 2 year period. They resell 3rd party TV's that were very faulty, an immature design.

Here's what I learned about mine, which makes it limp through as a Computer monitor (both DVI and VCA) and halfway functional TV.
You have to connect a DVI source, on the Main Menu for the DVI input there is an option called "Factory Mode". scroll down to it with the CH buttons and select it with the vol button. The scroll to "initialize eprom", select and confirm it. After the "Waitting" words disappear, make sure you have a TV source connected, Then turn the TV off and on, using the hard switch in the back. The TV input should be defaulted to channel 10 or 11 now But you select a TV channel that has no TV signal on it (like channel 1 for example) , the whole TV input side will refuse to let you select it again, and you'll have a blank screen and have to start over.

That takes care of the blank screen thing Now the other problem is parental control is defaulting to "ON" or something, and you can't program channels. With the TV input Main Menu engaged, select "Setup Menu." If you have this problem, then you'll only see 2 options, all the TV input and channel programming options will be missing. You have to select Parental Control, and when it prompts you for a password hit the volume > button 4 times (or just wait for a minute.) This should bring back your TV System and auto prgram/manual search options.

Unfortunately, my TV doesn;t remember these setting very well if I select cable, it does better if I select "AIr". But at least it funtions - kind of. If you switch to your computer input, you probably will have to switch the monitor off and on from the back panel again. Mine always starts up with the menu onscreen. All this might bve less trouble if you have a the remote, I don;t know where mine went after the last move.

Good luck, and hope this helps.
