Here is how to reset the HP Photosmart 8250: Performing a full reset 1. Press the Power button ( ) to turn on the product. 2. With the product turned on, disconnect the power cord from back of the product. 3. Disconnect the power cord from the wall outlet. 4. Wait at least 15 seconds. 5. Connect the power cord into wall outlet. 6. Connect the power cord to the back of the product. If the product does not turn on by itself, press Power button ( ) to turn it on. Try to print.
If you installed the "HP Support Toolkit" software from the CD-ROM that came with the printer, use this Toolkit to "run a cleaning cycle".
It can print a "test" page, to show you which colours _do_ work, and which do _not_ work.
If all else fails, then find a qualified printer technician.
ok..do us a favor here..try a test page from printer selection panel. just to make sure it's not the printer..you may need to re install new printer drivers.
Turn off the machine using the power button, unplug the power cord from the back of the machine, remove the ink cartridges, wait 2 min, plug the power cord back in, press the power button to turn on the printer, wait for the printer to prompt that the ink cartridges are missing, then replace the ink cartridges. If this doesn't clear the error you may need to re-prime the ink cartridges. There is a good explanation of how to do this at http://www.ccl-la.com/blog/index.php/hp-photosmart-ink-system-failure-1/.
