Server based pass word is now defunked, how do I gain access to my server based files?

Hello. You can probably fix this condition by following these steps:

1. Click on the gear icon in the upper-right of the IE window
2. Click on Internet Options
3. Click on the Advanced tab
4. In the Settings window, scroll all the way down to "Use TLS 1.0" and make sure that is checked.
5. Click Apply, then OK.

That should fix it for you. This is due to a recent change in how Yahoo handles login requests.

Once you have setup the central sever you can right click either the harddrive(s) or individual folders and there should be an option to share (or sharing and security). Open that and it should be quite straightforward to setup permissions so all computers can access those network places.
Next on the server right click My Computer and click properties. Write down what the workgroup name is.
Now go to the Vista laptops and goto Control Panel, then network places, or view wireless devices on network. Hopefully your shares will appear on the laptops and you can access them.
If they appear and you canot access them then you probably need to go back to step one and alter the permissions for sharing on the XP server.

"The Microsoft Jet Database Engine cannot open the file '(unknown)'"There are several causes for this error message:

• The account that Microsoft Internet Information Server (IIS) is using (which is usually IUSR) does not have the correct Windows NT permissions for a file-based database or for the folder that contains the file.
• The file and the data source name are marked as Exclusive.
• Another process or user has the Access database open.
• The error may be caused by a delegation issue. Check the authentication method (Basic versus NTLM), if any. If the connection string uses the Universal Naming Convention (UNC), try to use Basic authentication or an absolute path such as C:\Mydata\Data.mdb. This problem can occur even if the UNC points to a resource that is local to the IIS computer.
• This error may also occur when you access a local Microsoft Access database that is linked to a table where the table is in an Access database on a network server.

Resolution

• Check the permissions on the file and the folder. Make sure that you have the ability to create and/or destroy any temporary files. Temporary files are usually created in the same folder as the database, but the file may also be created in other folders such as the WINNT folder. Virtual Private Network (VPN) endpoint and pass-through support. Additional firewall features include custom and policy-based filtering options. These options have to be configured properly.
Check your configuration level and access policy.
If its a public server you have to place it in DMZ.
Check IP settings of the server. U may require a VPN tunnel

Install the Cisco Clean Access Agent software on your laptop. Contact your server administrator for the appropriate download for your operating system.

The software must be present to scan your system and send information to the Cisco Network Access Control device.

I connected my HP5MP to the DP-300U LPT1 port.
I configured my port on the DLink Configuration tab, giving it a name "hp5"
...The default login is at http://192.168.0.10/ user:admin pass:(there is no pass by default)

On my Mac, I go to System Preferences > Print & Fax
Click the + to add a new printer
Select the IP option
Choose the Protocol: Line Printer Daemon - LPD
Type in the Address: 192.168.0.10
Type in the Queue: hp5
Print Using: Generic PostScript Printer or better yet, 'Select a driver to use...'
and find the driver for your HP LaserJet 5MP.
Save it. Works like magic. ;-)

If you change the IP address or password on the DLink, just CYA and write it all down on a sticky note then tape the note under the DLink chassis. There's no reset button on the thing, and if you're o a Mac, you won't necessarily have access to the Windows utility to jack with the DP-300U. So, write it down, kidd-o!
