Select subtitle and audio track when ripping Blu-ray?

Among the Blu-ray ripping tools, Pavtube Blu-ray Ripper is favored by most movie lovers for its high success rate of ripping and free switchover of languages and subtitles. It removes BD+ and AACS protections, and handles Blu-ray discs up to MKB version 10 and above so that the Blu-ray movies are attainable freely. Recently Dolby TrueHD codec had been added to the app, which enables users to access any of the audio tracks in Blu-ray discs. It is “able to open, copy, and watch every Blu-ray, irrespectively whether the Blu-Ray was bought in Europe, Japan or USA (i.e. all the three zones)”. (commented by Markus Nolff, a user of Blu-ray Ripper). This guide shows you how to select subtitles and tracks of different languages when ripping Blu-ray discs. A step-by-step guide is displayed below:

Step 1. Load Blu-ray disc.
Make sure you have had an external Blu-ray drive connected with your PC. Insert the desired Blu-ray disc and run Pavtube Blu-ray Ripper. (A free trail version of Blu-ray Ripper can be downloaded from here.) Now when you see the interface, click on “DVD ROM” and the app will import Blu-ray movie from the BD-ROM. Check the directory and click “OK”. Do not expand the folders and try to look for certain M2TS files, since the ripper will detect and put all the M2TS files in file list. You can load DVD in the same way, the ripper is able to cope with any DVD, either protected or not. If your source movie is in folders, click “DVD folder” to import the folders.

Step 2. Set subtitles and audio tracks.
One Blu-ray disc usually comes with multiple audio tracks and subtitles of different languages. Right under the file list you could find Subtitle and Audio option from where the subtitle and dubbings are set. The dropdown list shows you the detailed information, such as the subtitle language, audio language, codec, channels etc. Here you check the main movie (with longest duration), set the subtitle and audio track, and double-click the file to preview your settings.

The movies come out distorted

had the same issue. the problem could possibly be:

bad disc burner
wrong disc format
or simply the quality of the program

i had this issue with power director 7.0 and i payed for upgrades and it worked fine. the quality is poor with these programs, and instead of wasting time fixing it, i would suggest investing in a pc or mac disc software for making movies. my power director came with my computer, but if you purchased yours, i would take a look at your burner or disc. overall, i think this program has poor quality, and its not worth your time. i hope this helped, and if you wish to continue using this software, look into the following problems above.

Select your needed subtitle and audio track while doing Blu-ray ripping on Mac

Because of the victory over HD DVD in the format war, Blu-ray disc has established its own reputation in this field. The one who does not have Blu-ray movie collections may be considered out of date. As a matter of fact, BD has become the symbol of high quality movies-high resolution, crystal image, and theater-like surround sound.
However, it’s uneasy to keep a large number of Blu-ray discs in a tidy way, especially when you have hundreds of discs. Due to this, backup them to your home server, or the hard disk of your Mac, or some external hard drives would be a good way to digitalize and store your BD collections. To backup Blu-ray movies, you need a Blu-ray Ripper, the thing is that most programs are unable to deal with BD subtitles and audio tracks in a correct way, or have audio and video out of sync issues, etc. Fortunately, Pavtube Blu-Ray Ripper for Mac is out of this category, it is professional in converting Blu-ray subtitles and audio tracks. My great pleasure to share its step-by-step process here, hope it will be of some help for you folks who are looking for such an application.
Okay, here we go.
First of all, you can download Pavtube Blu-Ray Ripper for Mac here.

Step 1: Launch this program, and load Blu-ray files to it.
You can import BD files through "DVD Folder" and "IFO File". Generally speaking, the .m2ts stream which has the longest duration would be the main movie, you can right-click on it, and then "Uncheck all", afterwards, only tick off it to convert would be OK.

Step 2: Select subtitle
Click the drop-down list of "Format", then all the subtitle info in the Blu-ray will be shown clearly, including language and stream ID, so you can select your needed language as your subtitle.

Step 3: Select audio track
Click the pull down menu of "Audio", and then the list will give you the detailed information of audio tracks, including language, audio codec, stream ID and audio channel. TrueHD audio and DTS-Master Audio are all supported.

Step 4: Click the drop-down list of "Format" to select output format
This program provides a wide range of output formats, including SD format, HD format, and videos for various multimedia devices, like iPod, iPhone, Apple TV, PSP, PS3, Archos, Motorola Droid, etc., you can select whatever format you need at will.

Step 5: Click "Settings" button to adjust audio and video parameters
All the parameters in the following window are changeable, including codec name, bit rate, aspect ratio, frame rate, sample rate, and channels. You can adjust these items to make good control of your output file quality and file size.

Step 6: Click "Convert" button to start BD ripping
Once finished, you can click "Open" button to find out the output files with your selected subtitle and audio stream with ease.

My technics sl-p770 doesn?t recognize the loaded CD.A cd is alway spin but not any track in audio cd.

Try cleaning the lens with a cd/dvd lens cleaner disc. Another thing of note....some cd players simply will not recognize homemade cds, or dics that are not audio discs, or if they were made on a computer.

DVD Ripping

This is a two part process...
You'll need DVD Decryptor (freeware) and AutoGK (also freeware).
In DVD Decryptor you'll be ripping the DVD movie to an IFO file.
Once that is complete load AutoGK, select the IFO file you just created (it will automatically get the .vob's you just created) select a destination defualt an audio track (usually movies have more than one audio track) and file size and let it go. Depending on the movie it should take approximately 45 minutes to an hour to complete.

The other program you can use after DVD Decryptor is Any Video Converter (also freeware). Instead of selecting the ifo file, select all the .vob files and then right click on the files and select "merge" (make sure they are in the correct order).

This program is a lot faster than autoGK BUT if your DVD has multiple audio tracks, it may not get the right one during conversion.

I believe you can get everything at www.filehippo.com

Hope this helps

Won't recognize an MP3 format CD

Usually a disc with audio files is not encoded with MP3's, but, rather, audio files. You can check this by manually opening the disc (right click on the player when the disc is in it), and looking at the files. If you only see marker (files of a few kilobits) in "MP3" format, then the disc needs to be "ripped" into MP3 format.

The ratio for audio to MP3 is 10 :1--this means a CD of 700 MB size with 10 tracks will become an MP3 collection of 10 tracks approximately 70 MB in size (this is a standard 128kbps audio quality CD) If the encoding is less (64 or 32kbps), the size of the resulting MP3 is smaller.

The hands down best ripping software to convert your audio CD to MP3's is called Goldwave. Although Nero and Winamp have functionality on a limited basis for this task, Goldwave is a far superior software package to not only rip, but also edit your creations. Once you have installed Goldwave, you use the OPEN CD button to read your files---then save them to your hard drive (in what CODEC or quality you want---MP3, Apple AIF, OggVorbis, etc.etc
