Garage door not working

I have been facing this problem for a while, that my garage door gets stuck nid way, and than when I again press it to go down and press back up, it works or soemtime si had to do this few times before I can get the door open completely. This problem was mostly afced in winter seasons. Hwoever, sicne last night (30 Nov 2008), the door opener box is not working at all. When I press the button on teh door opener, it makes a sound as if something si trying to rotatae int eh box but is not pulling the door up.

What can be done to fix it, or can it be fixed? Do I eed to replace the opener box with a new one. The box is from Craftsman 1/2 HR.

Please help.

Increase the opening force by 1/4 turn and decrease the closing force by 1/4 turn on the control box, where the drive shaft for the door is attached, and where the motor is. increase the or decrease the adjustment till the door can be open with minimum of torque.

The rollers for the door could be bad or just gummed up. Also check to make sure the garage door springs are in good condition and not broken. And adjust your door open force on the opener.

Try reprograming the opener to each remote, if this doesn't work then the command/radio module in the opener is damaged and needs to be replaced. Hopefully you can find one or you will have to replace the whole garage door opener. Good luck.

I would recommend this. I'm not sure this will work, but I think it will.
Try starting from scratch. Reprogram the unit to the car again, I think the codes change each time it is done. If not, it's not too difficult to try.

I am unable to close my garage door I press the remote & it goes down alittle then back up & the inside light blinks-I have a LiftMaster model #1260

I had this problem also last year. Turned out that my sensors at the base of the garage were out of alignment. They need to be perfectly facing each other or the door won't work and light flashes.

I Have a Liftmaster Professional Formula 1 garage door opener. When we press button on wall or garage door opener, we hear the motor going but the garage door doesn't do anything. Do I need a new opener?

There is a rope or string hanging down that releases the dog that hooks the door to the chain...if someone pulled that the door will not open. You need to pull down and back on the srting to relaese the dog and then push the door up to catch the chain...then the door will work again...

I have 2 liftmaster 3245. The hand held remotes were working fine then stopped. I replaced the batteries and turned of all electrical/RIF close by. Still not working. Both cars operate the doors with no...

You need to reprogram the remotes by briefly pushing the learn button on the garage door opener until it flashes once, then release the button on the garage door opener.

Now press the remote button once until you hear the garage door opener click, now press the remote button once again and the remote should be programmed to work for that garage door opener.

DO NOT press and hold the garage door opener learn button for more than 10 seconds or you'll erase all programs and have to relearn all the remotes, including your car ones.

Hope you found this very helpful and best regards.

Garage door won't stay closed

Check the down limit:
If the light bulb(s) on your operator are on the front and/or back, the limit adjustment screw is on the left side of the operator (looking from the back of the operator and facing  the garage door).. If the lights are on the sides of the operator then the limit adjustment screw is on the left side (looking from the back of the operator and facing  the garage door)
