1. First check the power cable by removing it and then plugging it in again. You may find it is not pushed in far enough.
If that is good then follow these steps

  • The console might not be turned on. Turn on the console using the main power switch on the back of the console.
  • Make sure the AC power cord is securely connected.
  • Visually inspect the AC power cord for damage. Do not use if frayed, cut, or damaged in any way.
  • Confirm the wall power outlet is active (receiving power). Try a different power outlet.
  • If possible, test the power cord by connecting it to a different PLAYSTATION 3.
  • If possible, try another AC power cord on your PLAYSTATION 3.
  • If you experienced a power surge, shortage, or a lightning storm in your geographical area recently, this may have affected the PLAYSTATION 3 power supply and the PLAYSTATION 3 may need service.
  • Make sure the vents are not obstructed in anyway.
  • Make sure there is adequate ventilation for the PLAYSTATION 3. There should be at least four (4) inches of clearance between the air vents on the system and any walls, televisions, entertainment centers, etc. Otherwise the unit may not function properly due to what are actually environmental issues.
I hope this helped
cheers
John

How do I connect to TV? What color and plugs do I use.

If you're connecting the player with TV; using an AV cable, connect its pins according to its color code to both DCD and TV. AV cable will have 3 color wires. Here is its picture.

I had to move my tv because something fell behind it. The three color coded wires came out and I can't remember where they go. My television now will not work. Help?

There should be 3 holes (plugs) with the same colors on them on the back or side of the TV. The Yellow should go in the Yellow hole (plug), Red in Red, and White in white. Make sure they are all in a line.

Once in, take note of the location such as AV 1, AV 2, ect... It will be marked by the holes(plugs). Turn your TV ON, and hit the INPUT button until you see which location you plugged your item in to. Also, make sure the item is turned on.

Hope this helps

When ever i plug in my video and audio cable the red white and yellow ones, into the back of my Toshiba 26CV100U TV i don't get the picture i only get the sound what should i do ?

The Red, White and Yellow (AV) cable is for composite video and stereo audio. The yellow cable is the video part of this, the red and white are the audio --
3 possible solutions for you:

1. Make sure you match up the color of the plugs with the sockets on your tv.
2. Make sure you're not using the Red, Green, Blue (RGB) input on your tv which uses similar plugs, but has a different color coding.
3. Make sure your tv input is set to the AV input. This is often controlled by the "TV/Video" button on your remote, and the AV input is often called "Video 2" or "3" depending on the model.

Hello, you will want to try resetting the video output.Manually push and hold down the power button till you hear the second beep. This resets the video to composite(yellow cable)

I have power to my ps3 but no pictu on the tv.

Also, if it was previously plugged in to HD, it might need to be switched back to SD cable. To do this switch your ps3 off, then press and hold the power button when you turn it on. It will beep once when you turn it on, then beep again after a few seconds. Once it's beeped the second time the display settings will be reset and hopefully it will show up on the screen.

Hook up

On the back, there are three ports that are color-coded and match the cables. Take the yellow cable and plug it into the yellow port. Do the same with the red and white. Take the other end of the cables and plug them into your TV or VCR. Most TVs and VCRs have ports for the cables on either the back or front, and are also color-coded. Plug the yellow cable into the yellow plug on your TV/VCR, and repeat for the red and white cables.
