Flickering white lines in 50PF9630A/37 philips plasma

I got philips plasma 50PF9630A/37. There was no picture only sound. The screen was flickering with white lines on screen. I updated my TV with available latest driver on philips.com (Software, Version: 1.5.0.0 ). Now i am able to see picture but too many white lines are flickering on the screen with picture freezing. I think i have updated driver very well as per the instructions and result. Please guide me what could be the problem. You can use technical terms as i know little bit about this.Thank you.

Quick test of the plasma screen itself:

1) Turn on the TV
2) Try to bring up an on screen setup menu using the remote or buttons on the tv.
3) Does the menu appear? If so, the screen itself is ok.

If it doesn't come up you make have an issue with the screen itself. I am not sure it would be possible to set contrast and brightness settings such that the picture would completely disappear, but I suspect you should be seeing something on the screen just from having turned it on.

We also need to know more about what you have connected to the television. HD televisions typically have several inputs on them including HDMI, digital cable, VGA and component. Let's say for example you have PS3 connected via HDMI. You can tell the PS3 to send audio across the HDMI cable as well as video. You also have the option of running separate connections for your audio signal. It is the existence of these options that make it necessary to understand where and how you have things connected, very specifically.

Unfortunately the 'green line' issue mentioned in the review appears to still be happening on screens that are shipping to end users. (It's been documented in detail on AVForums).

Hopefully this should be rectified by a firmware change (simply being able to adjust the picture vertically as well as horizontally would help).

The clearlcd technology is new for philips

VERY VERY COMMON IN PHILIPS!!! People all over the internet are noticing the same problem. Philips is still working on it. I will let you know as soon as they have a solution.

Horizontal lines are either caused by the main logic board, a dammaged screen or by the main x and y drivers. Hard to determine which one it is, but somthing is getting hot which is causing the problem. My guess is the main logic board.
