Question about HP 38G Calculator
Been stored a couple of years in a hot attic, before I tried fresh batteries recently. Tried powering up/reseting using the manual's suggestions of holing the ON button and another button as dictated. Also tried the reset pin hole on the back. Any ideas? Is this calculator worth getting repaired, if necessary?
Try opening the software on your PC. Set the connection to USB and connect your calc. On the calc press the right shift key followed by the right arrow key.....software should now recognize the calc.

I can't locate any information regarding an HP 8s Scientific Calculator, but I can locate information on a HP 9s Scientific Calculator. Perhaps they are similar in function. From the HP web site, please check out the link below.
I hope this helps!

You can't charge the calculator off the solar power panel. The solar power panel merely conserves battery power when using the calculator in a bright environment. Try putting in a new battery and see whether the calculator turns on.
