Problem for Maytag MDB9600A Jetclean II Built-in Dishwasher

I can't get my dishwasher to start

The lights on the control touch panel are flashing on the clean cycle indicator as well as the Rinse Only, Normal Wash and Heated Dry. I can't get them to stop flashing and I can't run the dishwasher. I've tried pressing the 3 second lock /unlock button but that's not doing anything either. How can I get these lights to stop flashing and get my dishwasher to run?

-   I had the same problem with my MDB9750 dishwasher, but followed the directions to clean the 18-pin connector on the circuit board as suggested by SelfHelp3 posting. I used a cotton swab and rubbing alcohol. Since I had the hex-head sockets, the total repair took only about 45 minutes. I had to power down the dishwasher at the circuit breaker box since I didn't know how to disconnect the power otherwise. -   Guest

-   Try shutting off the power for 30 seconds and then push and hold the drain off button for 3 seconds. Problem cleared for me.-   Guest

-   I have followed all the recomendations on line but can't get my dishwasher to start and lights to keep from flashing. The Lock symbol with the number "three" in it flashes along with the heated Dry and Santize buttons. When I push the Heated Dry button, the lights flash about five times and then they just stay on. I have unplugged the unit and looked at all the connections after pulling off the front panel. This is a different style than the dishwashers I have seen on line with the same type problem. Can you please help?
Thanks,

-   We had the same problem (lights blinking/not operational) with our Maytag Dishwasher Model# MDB5100AWW. My husband took out the "pcb assembly" (panel control board) from the door panel. He then lifted the smaller circuit board up and then popped the lower circuit board out of it's plastic holder. At this point, he removed the rubber 9 button cover and cleaned the 18 little wires that this rubber 9 button cover makes contact with. He used an eraser to clean these areas. He reassembled the door panel, plugged in the unit and the lights were still flashing. He pressed the off button twice and the dishwasher was fixed for free. We pocketed the $130 (Canadian dollars) by NOT having to replace the entire "pcb assembly"!!! *NOTE: We were advised to unplug the dishwasher and let it stand for several hours, so as to drain all the electricity out of the circuit panels. Feel free to email me at vgriffiths@telus.net for more info. if anything seems unclear.-   selfhelp3

-   My dishwasher runs then stop, runs then stops and then the lights on the front flash. I have read the instructions that were posted and I want to know when I push the "Normal wash, heat dry" buttons does the door need to be opened because when I do this the dishwasher starts up with the door closed.-   wis_girl71

Pressing [Normal Wash], [Heated Dry], [Normal Wash], [Heated Dry], [Normal Wash], [Heated Dry], [Drain Off] also cleared the flashing lights on model MDB9150.

Thanks for the tip. It saved me much aggravation.
This troubleshooting solution should have been in the manual in the first place. Boo Maytag!

Look for the button with the 3 overlapping the Lock Oval. For me, it is the Heated Dry button. Hold that button in for 3 seconds to unlock it. You can also hold it in again for 3 seconds to unlock it.

ALSO THESE INSTRUCTIONS ARE ON THE INSIDE OF THE DOOR WHEN YOU CRACK IT OPEN
