I just replaced my lamp for the second time in three years . Now the fan is really loud .I have no idea.

I have exactly the same problem, I replaced the bulb once, but now the TV will start "howling" after a period of time being on, and the picture will flicker and then black out. I am guessing that it is the fan?

Its not the fan, its the color wheel assembly. Unfortunately, its not available from Toshiba. Check with PTS in Indiana.

My toshiba mod. 52hm95 lamp cooling fan is making noise and i am having trouble locating a replacement

Fan like noise may be a fan or the color wheel---color wheel spins at high speed(lamp faces it) and when failing you will have a high pitched or fan like sound---hard failure and you will hear a grinding sound.

Heard a loud pop noise and the tv cut out. Left it off to cool down and turned it back on but no sound or picture. The green light was on and the fans attempted to start but then shut down

Easy one. Your lamp needs replaced. part number is labeled on the lamp itself and is easily accessed from the rear of the TV. Approximately 6" lamp cover removes with a few screws then a couple more for the lamp. Simply pull out and replace. Cost for the lamp is around $219. Make sure to replace with OEM parts.

I have an RCA DLP tv model HP50LPW52. the sound was there with no picture. since it is 5 years old I replaced the lamp for the first time. got it all hooked up, turned it on and the tv slowly came on....

That is your Color Wheel that is bad. I wish you would have posted the problem before buying a lamp. I would have told you to treat yourself to a new set instead of putting good money into a DLP set that is 5 years old.

When I turn my tv on it makes this loud noise like a motor is running and I have no picture. Any ideas of what the problem may be??

hi,

1. lamp
2. lamp cooling fan
3. color wheel
you have mentioned that there is a loud sound can caused by the lamp cooling fan or by the color wheel. when the bearing of any one get damaged it will create aloud noise.
check the color wheel first. also check the lamp is it broken or not. if you need any more assistance feel free to contact me through fixya

that noise could be the color wheel. it sound like a fan. but it could be a fan and if fan does not work properly , the lamp would not stay cool.

Maybe you should have a service center look at . before you get another lamp.
