Has the laptop gotten Wet, Or there Maybe excess Humidity there. U can try taking it apart and cleaning the nodes where the keys touch the motherboard/membrane, also the ribbon connector into to the connecters, check and clean.. Clean this area with alcohol and a q-tip GENTLY,let it air dry and re assemble . This may or may not help your problem. because the water/moisture infiltration in the the connectors, can cause these kinds of problems. Good Luck

Replace the keyboard? If a few keys grouped together stop working, the matrix may be damaged, so replace the keyboard.

How to remove samsung RF511 keyboard

I was actually travelling throughout central America and even in December it gets unbearable with the heat, so I sweated on certain keys that shorted out. I have the Samsung rf511 laptop. I just googled "laptop repair" for my city and called. They offered to put in the keyboard free and only charge for the keyboard itself. they say around 50 bucks for the keyboard but i've found ones for 20 on ebay.

Dumped hot tea on key board and it shut down

When this happens, you should fully disassemble the laptop & thoroughly inspect its inside. Look for any traces of liquid on the circuit boards & on other components. On circuit boards, liquid damage appears in the form of whitish traces. These needs to be wiped off. This can be done using a tooth brush moistened with few drops of hand sanitizer liquid.
Check all internal connectors & make sure that no liquid seeped into them. Dry them if needed.
When you are done, re-assemble back the laptop.
If the liquid fell on the keyboard & you found out that the keyboard is no longer working, then you will have to replace the keyboard.

Some of my keys stopped working, yet if I press down in the left center under the keyboard then they work,, how do I get them to work all the time?? Replace keyboard??

You have an "open circuit" somewhere inside your keyboard - it could be a bad solder connection or a broken wire. In either case I would recommend a new keyboard.

Keyboard Buttons not working

Sounds to me like somebody may have spilled something onto the keyboard. You could try to take the keyboard out and reseat it to see if that solves it. If not then the keyboard is bad and will have to be replaced.

Toshiba A135-S4527 cmos battery dead

I found where the cmos battery is located. By the Toshiba tech support website , it's next to the PCMCIA Slot, just behind it. To get to it, Take off LCD, keyboard, top palmrest, hard drive, battery, memory, top power cover, switch board, modem, network. and some others. Too many to describe here. Items to remove not in order.
I Have the service manual downloaded already.

Keyboard

Happened to me too - ended up needing a new keyboard, which I bought but then totally broke the pin when I replaced. So now I just use an external keyboard. You can probably get it to work with a replacement notebook keyboard, but be REALLY careful when swapping it out!
