Question about Zebra Printer 140-751-00000

Open Question

Prints additional characters

I am developing through ZPL and using a special barcode font which everything worked when I was not using ZPL code but using DPL. However that caused the app to send 150 individual jobs when we needed 150 labels. With ZPL it now sends 1 job to print 150 labels, however I set the International Font to CI13 so I can do a backslash and now the printer is adding this line with a small dash coming out of the right side of it (looks like Extended ASCII Code character #195. It appears at the beginning, after the fourth character and at the end of the barcode which renders the barcode unreadable to the scanners. What is causing this?

Yasemin, the most practical solution is to design your label on a software like a label matrix or zebra designer and print to a file and have the ZPL codes. Roberto Martinez Mexico bartech9@yahoo.com.mx

SOURCE: I'm inputing ASCII via RS232 would like barcode printout

You will need to send the data using ZPL or the printer won't recognize it , if you don't have experience in this area print through the Zebra Print Driver should work. In your application use Barcode 128 as the font and see how it goes

You would have to look at the Zebra programming language(ZPL) being sent to the printer. Are you writing your own code or using a labeling software package ? The printer driver will convert to ZPL if using a labeling software package. You didn't say if the two printers are connected to the same PC or two PC's. Check your formats if two PC's. Something else is going on if both printers are connected to the same PC.

Decoding properties EAN128. I need the data separator not to be removed (FNC1) for variable lenght application identifiers. How do i have to configure the 4410

If you generate your own barcode font, you may find the FNC1 character in the manual. In the ascii table for the font generator we use, the FNC1 character's ascii value is 102 +32 and is coded as (chr)134 in the code128c string. Most Iinfo online suggests the ascii character is 202 or 234 (?) or the character defined as "capital E with the circumflex", but that did not work for our barcode font.

Currently have a TLP2742 duplicator which prints barcode and text. Need to alter this to just print the text. how do i do it?

Do you know if you are using a label software program to design the label or just ZPL (which is Zebra Programming Language) code direct to the printer? If it is software, then you can open that label design software file and remove the barcode. If it is ZPL, then you need to remove it from the code. I can help with this if you can email me the code.

what is the font set at? using Arial or other fonts can make the software send a more complicated image. use the Zebra Triuverate font. this keeps it simple. also, do a print out of the settings on each printer and compare them line by line. change the settings to match the printer that is printing correctly.
