Question about InFocus ScreenPlay 4805 Multimedia Projector
if he is spends a lot of time gaming, i am not so sure a projector is the best bet. all projectors use bulbs, that have a certain life-span. ( the infocus i have is about 3,000-4000 hours) that might seem like a lot. but if he starts to use it for movies and tv, it can add up fast. to replace a bulb, it costs about $350 - $400 . most projectors need a dark room to look their best. if the room that he uses his system is well lit, the image will be "washed out". the high end "hi-def" projectors are costly, and personally i would not want an small expensive piece of electronics around a bunch of hyped up teens. his gaming experience would be the same (or in some cases better) with lets say a 32" LCD 720p in a dark room but sitting more closer to the set than normal, and now there are some great buys, much less than you would spend for a projector. ( dont forget, with a projector, you also need a screen)
