I just brought a Whirlpool Duet Sport Washing Machine (model # WFW8300SW) and when I used it for the first time I was astonished on how loud the spin cycle is. I don't think it should be that loud or move that much. It literally moved about 6 inches during the spin cycle. My newborn actually woke up from the noise. Is this normal? Please help.

You have to ask yourself how much is the warranty worth to you. You normally have a 12 months warranty because if the machine is going to develop a fault, it will usually be in the first few months of use.
Saying that, some brands just don't last that long. The ones that do are expencive to buy in the first place.
So to answer your question, if you are getting it for half price of new, then yes I would go for it. If in the event something does go wrong, a repair will still be cheaper than a similar new unit, so you haven't lost out on the deal.
