Question about HP LaserJet 3200m All-In-One Printer
Hello-I work for a non-profit with old but still functional equipment. My hp laserjet 3200m printer is leaving tracks on every copy. At first it was four horizontal lines (spaced about 3 inches apart) now it also includes a long sort of tire track an inch wide and along the left hand edge of the page from top to bottom. Is this an issue of cleaning something, or do you think it's something else?
Good morning Jean,
A mark that is three inches apart can either be the drum, which is part of your toner cartridge, or the fixing assembly, which heats the toner and makes it stick to the paper. With both problems you are describing it could be either of these. The easiest way to figure out which it could be would be to replace your toner and see if the problem persists or if the machine is fixed. If you rub you finger on the left side of the page where the problem is does the toner rub off? If this happens then the fixing assy needs to be replaced. It could also be a combination of both problems. If you replace the toner it could fix part of the problem or vice versa.
Hope this helps
