Question about Watches

2 Answers

I have a G-Shock watch. One with Atomic and Solar recharge. They say it is water proof but after I stuck my hand in water to clean my fish aquarium everytime I twist my arm the light comes on. This causes the battery to drain.

Wow, you are retarded. That's a function of the G Shock watches. I don't know who would actually use the auto light function, but its there. To turn off auto light, hold down your illuminate button for 2 or 3 seconds until you hear a beep. Holding down the light button toggles between auto light on and auto light off.

Take it off before submerging it. If you do submerge your watch do not twist your arm. Nothing is actually waterproof but is to different degrees of resistance. You can find owner's manuals online in a PDF form that will tell you the proper way to care for your watch. Refer to it as you need. Sounds like your back is loose maybe and needs to be properly tightened. Often when you change the battery the gasket is out of alignment or the screws are over tightened and compromise the integrity of the gasket. When you twist your arm the case flexes and causes pressure on the button and it lights up. Unless you spend alot of time feeding or working in your fish tank this shouldn't wear your battery out too fast. Take it off when submerging it during this chore.

Check your rechargeable battery level. When MED or LOW (M or L) some functions are disabled in order to save energy to keep time (at least) running. If L,recharge immediatelly by exposing the watch to direct sunlight (not behind window glass) for 5-6 hours.Check the battery level in the mean time.Recharge more,if needed.

G-Shock Atomic Solar watch - ERR in atomic time keeping

The watch will set itself at specific time set times, this is likely to be at 0200 0400 and 0600.
You will however be required to set the time zone, the switch is likely to be on the back.

seems pretty extensive.
you either need to set your time manually if you are not automatically receiving the atomic signal. if you are receiving the signal, then either you are not in auto DST mode or your home city is set incorrectly.
