Question about Epson TM-T88III Printer

Reciept's printing with gibberish

We have several Epson T88's on our network and have been getting some gibberish on the top right hand side of one of the printers. Before the header it prints "eg" and "{A62875....}" then the reciept is printed but cut off short. The customer signature area is cut off and then ends up on the top of the next reciept. I've tried updating the drivers and also other printers of the same model are using the same drivers and working fine. I found that the firmware is a more updated version than the printer which is working (10.0 not working vs. 7.0 which is working fine). How can I change the firmware on this printer back to an earlier version? And if firmware is not the problem what would be causing this?

As per someone elses post here:
# Select Print from the File menu.

If you see the message The Epson Printer Driver dealing with CD printing is not installed, click OK.

# Click Tray, select Tray 2, then click OK.

Note: If Tray 2 is not selected, the CD design will print in the wrong position.

# Click Manual Print.

# Make sure Epson Stylus Photo R(your model) is selected.

# Under Paper, select the following settings:

* Source: Manual

* Size: A4

# Click Properties.

# Select CD/DVD or CD/DVD Premium Surface for the Media Type setting.

# Click OK, then click OK again to print.

Epson T88...won't ink....paper does come out, but blank.

This is a thermal printer so make sure you have thermal paper. Take your finger nail or the end of a pen and rub the paper. It should make a black mark from the heat you generate on it. Also make sure the treated side is up,

Cancel all the pending print commands from printer buffer that will be there in the bottom right hand side with an icon of small printer. And right click on the printer properties by going in Control Panel->Printers check the printer icon and do the right click and check whether it is offline or online. It should be Online.Click on the properties and click on Roll Back Driver option. Or either uninstall or reinstall the drivers either by Driver CD or by online. Restart the computer and then try to take the print.

Epson inkjet printer or Epson laser printer?

If inkjet, then run the Epson software to "clean" the print-heads.

If laser, then the "fuser" (which uses heat to bond the ink to the paper) is not working -- touch the paper, and see if the left side is warm while the right side is cool.

Prints Gibberish, not the Text - Epson Stylus 460

This is usually due to a corrupted driver. To fix this uninstall the printer using the Windows uninstall software facility on the Control Panel (I am presuming it's a Windows system, if not use the uninstall facility of your OS). Reboot the computer then re-install the printer. If you need more help with the uninstall/re-install processes, report back.
