Re: mini disc recorder question
Just use the first two tracks, one for left and one for right and use the PAN pots to adjust the stereo positioning. Just run the 'tape out' or 'line out' or 'aux out' of the mixer to the REC "IN" on the MiniDisc recorder; hit "record" then the "play" button to start it. Make sure your input selector switch is on ANALOG and not DIGITAL or OPTICAL. Let me know how it works out for you. Okay? Thanks

It is much easier to use an analog mixer and microphone thru the mixer. I would plug the microphone into the mike input on the mixer and then the Karaoke machine to stereo LINE inputs on the the Mixer, then Mixer Output or Tape Output on the mixer to analog LINE IN on the MiniDisc recorder.

I listed a similar answer for a similar qestion. If you have a push in to load mechanism, it is probably worn out. I had similar problems and found they were impossible to correct - think of it is an out of allignment or mechanical problem.
The few places which can fix this problem were charging $60 an hour plus shipping to and from, and may not have the parts to fix it. the cheapest way to go is to eBay for another MD.
If you are buying a used deck check it out like this - Load and record a good disc. Eject it and then replay it. If the reloaded disc plays you have a good MD if not you have a bad MD recorder of some sort.
Bad decks act like they are recording but MDs are not CD recorders they use a laser and a magnetic riding skate on the other side to of the MD write to the disc. If the skate is damaged they will appear to write but when you put the disc in another recorder or reload it to your recorder they will not have anything recorded on them.
I get bothered when I see clueless ads for used MD recorders saying it plays but does not record but it is a simple fix - It is not and the unit although it will probably play well it is not cost effective to fix the record problem I mentioned.
i have just solved the problem get a small flat head screw driver and whilst ejecting put it into the hole where the mini disk goes. now when i say gentle i mean gentle GENTLY feel for the edge of the mini disk you will find it. When you know you have found it very gently and slowly push the mini disk up and down and the disk will pop out you wont damage anything as long as you are slow and gentle. If it doesnt happen first time dont worry it will with patience but dont be heavy with it. The problem is the disk and not the player. you have a corrupt disk which is quiet common. Just throw the disk away. Turn the machine off for 10 seconds and turn back on put another disk in that your not bothered about and you will see that it shoudl play etc try recording onto that disk and you shoudl see that the player is working fine
hope this helps
