Question about HP iPAQ 110 Pocket PC

HP iPAQ 110 will not active sync

My HP iPAQ 110 will not active sync with either my desktop or laptop. Previous sync was 11-19-08 without a problem. Now when I hook it up via USB to either computer, a message comes up that states "ActiveSync cannot connect to the Windows powered mobile device. To troubleshoot the problem, click OK". When the troubleshooting is complete, it says "Unable to establish a connection between the PC and the device"
I have tried rebooting the computers and reconnecting the pda...no luck. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling ActiveSync 4.5, then rebooting the computer...no luck. I've tried disabling my Avast antivirus prior to sync....no luck. I've looked at the Windows Firewall exceptions....the ActiveSync programs are in the list.

What next?

    I think the problem is with the USB port because when I just hook it up to charge the battery I have to wiggle the connection before the charge light comes on. My immediate plan is to order a new port. They run about ten bucks.

    I am having a similiar problem...my computer updates will sinc to the IPAC however not in reverse!! Anyone suggestions as the the computer indicates that the sinc has been completed.

    My Ipaq 110 last successfully synced mid-November and my computer will not recognize my Ipaq. Just recently, my wall adaptor stopped charging my Ipaq. The only way my Ipaq will charge is if I take out the battery first. Do I need to replace my battery or is it sometime more?

No operating systems stated,
windows 10? what?
why would a battery this old be good, if was, its like world record.
buy a new battery ,better upgrade to smart phone.

but the HP end and the Microsoft end have to have compatible and working drivers. to work.

your only hope is talking to Microsoft now,
see if they support it, my guess w10 does not
how far back , support software drivers ended, ask MS.
looks like (hard to track) w7 is last OS supported.

i see scalpers selling drivers now, for this old product.

Unfortunately, WMDC is not compatible with Windows 8 and you will not be able to sync your Outlook related data to your iPAQ. There is no expectation that Microsoft has any plans to update WMDC to make it compatible.
You may be able to use a third party paid application to sync the data, like Companion Link or Akruto Sync.

    one can buy a used smart phone,

SOURCE: activesync via bluetooth

I have bluetooth Activesync working on my hw6515 connected to a Dell x300. Followed the instructions in the User Guide Chapter 9. Need to take note of the com port assigned to bluetooth serial port on the PC. Connection must be initiated each time from the IPAQ ie go to buetooth manager and connect the activesync shortcut.

What version of ActiveSync are you using? Open ActiveSync on the PC, then open "About ActiveSync" under the "Help" menu - it should be version 4.5. If not, download version 4.5 from Microsoft as a first attempt to fix the problem. If you are using 4.5, try uninstalling/reinstalling again but make sure you do a soft reset (push the pin on the top of the device) before you connect the Ipaq. If this doesn't work let me know and we'll try some other things.

Ipaq 4700 active sync problems


i can try to help you , first are you using xp or vista ? and which version of active sync ? i found that after upgrading to active sync v4.5 my ipaq 4700 refused to sync , i have xp home , so by trial and error i learned several things , i tryed my usb cable in every usb slot i had , only to find some usb ports are more friendly to certain devices , for a lack of better terms , i deleted all partnerships in active sync , found that i needed to make sure active sync is not running on ipaq , go to settings / memory / running programs on the ipaq , stop all running programs , turn the ipaq off , then on the pc made sure firewall not locked , plug usb cable into pc , i leave mine in a port permanently , plug into the ipaq , it automatically turns the ipaq on , then i see 2 icons in pc system subtray start blinking , at that point i know sync is going to work , then active sync icon starts turning , lit up in green , and asks do you want to create a partnership , yes , follow prompts , and thats what has been working for me , now if i was to put the usb cable into a different port , no doubt it would give me grief , and the same thing with my phone and active sync , make sure active sync is not running on the device , sometimes i have to reset the unit , ipaq or phone , make sure unit is turned off them make the connection , give it a try .

Ipaq 4100 problem syncronizing with outlook on new laptop


you are now using outlook 2003 , probably cache , this means all the email is on your laptop. when you sync it will sync all the email (thousands). initialise your ppc (back to factory default). set up the sync via usb cable. then sync via bluetooth . then you are fully sync. now setup an auto backup of your email data (daily). if after some time , you have sync problem again , initialise the ppc, restore from backup and you are back to sync (last full backup). try this , you will never need to do it all again.

PC/PDA "connected" yet PC won't read PDA


try syncing through bluetooth, there could be a problem with the cradle. i have had an issue very similar to yours and had to do a soft reset on my pda. then set up your device to use a blue tooth connection( you may need to buy a bluetooth dongle for your pc).

got start> programs > active sync> open> then connect the usb cable...after phone is detected try to do sync. reinstall active sync can also help.

IPAQ H5555 connection problems


Hi, This could be due to a few issues, try these soloutions in order below: 1) If you have a jacket connected to the ipaq it could be preventing the ipaq from locating correctly on the connector. Remove jacket and try insering again. 2) Check that active sync is set up to detect the device on the usb port. The cradle for the ipaq may have a serial and usb connector. Ensure that just the usb connector is attached to your laptop. Try connecting again. 3) You may need to uninstall the USB cradle if it was connected before installing active sync. Try the following steps if this was the case: a) unplug the USB cradle b) uninstall active sync c)Click start then click control pannel then click system. Then click on the hardware tab. Look for the device under USB, right click on the device and then select uninstall. d) restart the laptop e) Install active sync f) ONLY after active sync has installed you can now plug the cradle back into the usb socket. g) Now connect the ipaq, it should now detect it.
