Check and replace damaged component/s at its horizontal scan output section circuit. Check the LOT (Line Output Transformer) too for damage. Replace the horizontal scan output transistor. Check the input voltage to LOT. If the voltage is absent check the feeder resistor; if any. If you wish to get some details; check the site linked here. Pull up older posts.

No heater for tv model no.SV2918

Check the continuity of the CRT heater [pin 1~8]. If it is found open, no need to proceed. If it has continuity, check the AC voltage there when the LOT works. Should have about 6.2VAC. If not, check all the solder terminals and series resisotr. connected to this bus.

Desolder out the horizontal output transistor, and now power on the set. If the set now powers ON, replace the horizontal output transistor. It is faulty. [Collector to emitter or collector to base leak]

Why is my Sansui Sv2918 tv constantly blowing the line output transistor

Try using a higher voltage for the replacement cap. Usually factory uses exact voltage but that can not handle surges.

Replace all the capacitors connected to the horizontal output section. Especially capacitors connected to the collector of the horizontal output transistor.

I have a sansui tv model sv2918,it doesn't play

The TV has some firmware defect. Seek tech support.
Unplug it from AC mains wall socket, and plug it again after 5 minutes. This must make it a hard reset.

When powering up all i get is a red screen with black lines across. Sound is still there and can change channels and ocationaly after several attempts it will give a picture albeit rather green.

Hello
Your TVs video output transistor [Red] has got shorted. Usually a transistors are used in most of the colour telivisions in video output stage.. If it is a transistorised video output stage, replacing red output transistor will solve the problem. In some modern sets there are so many types of Integrated Circuts [ICs] are used. If your TV uses Ic as video output, replace the Ic.
