If it is not the graphics card then it sounds like dead pixels on the screen there is no way to fix the screen without replacing it :)

just mess with it though. squeeze the screen by pinching it on the outsides gently and it might go away or wiggle your monitor back and forth. because maybe you just have a bad connection...

oh and do you leave the laptop open and on all day without a screensaver? If so the image has probably burned into the monitor. You should apply a screensaver straight away to avoid having to get the laptop replaced, happened to me with my last monitor, I learned the hard, €200 way!

Good Luck!

My hp pavilion ze2000 take ages to start up

HI,

If your laptop won't start then remove the battery from the back and just connect your Laptop with the power cord and press hold then power button for 1min.This will help you fix the issue.Incase your laptop turns on but takes lots of time to show the desktop screen then you will have to repair the windows with the recovery disc given with your laptop.

Thin Red Line on Left Side of HP Pavilion DV2000 Lap Top Screen

Majority of time it's the lcd that has a problem which creates the red line, otherwise it's the GPU (video processor).

Try hooking up your computer to an external monitor. If you see the line on the external chances are it's the lcd.

This method of testing isn't fool proof but either way the problem is hardware related.

Let me know if you have any other questions.

this is a very common problem if you always hav your llaptop on then its basically fried into your screen. if not and u damaged it somehow then you need a replacement. and if none of thats the case your monitor got 2 overheated or maybe one of your lcd cords coming from the mother board(hard drive) of your laptop is loose or damaged by heat

Vertical lines in my laptop screen

Try using an external monitor, every laptop has a blue VGA connector, just connect a monitor there and check is those lines
disappear,if it does, probably you have a problem with the internal connection of your monitor to the motherboard.

HP Pavilion ZD8000 vertical lines issue

Hi,
In answer to your question. It may be a screen problem. as the screen has a Matrix of vertical and horizontal line configuration.
I,d suggest trying the laptop/computer on an external monitor or screen. if it works fine on an external. then it could be assumed that the TFT Panel or invertor has a fault.
if the picture/display still has vertical lines on an external monitor, then the fault may lie, with the Mainboard.

Process of elimination, before spending any Money :)
