Hi there my camera has no flash and a am wondering if the flash itself can be faulty can the flash bulb be faulty ?

Depending on the age of the camera it is possible that the flash has failed, if the camera is newer and has some sort of warranty then you should be able to trade it in for a new one straight from the manufacturer.

Flash wont pop up

Your flash may be set to automatic. If it is, then your camera may think there is enough light to make the photo develop properly.

To remedy this, go into your flash settings, and adjust it to flash on, rather than flash auto.

Once this setting is in place, the camera should pop the flash up on every shot.

If this doesn't change anything for you, the camera may need to be checked professionally as this camera has a well known problem that is wide spread. As such, if you contact the manufacturer, they may have deemed this as a defect and will work with you to replace it at no cost (this I cannot verify).

If you feel like you want to try to take apart your camera (assuming that it is out of warranty) you can try this fix. Its somewhat advanced and you should proceed with caution.

TASCO Trail Camera. Only used for 3 months, now the flash isn't operating. Hope this isn't a throw away.

The TASCO flash is driven by a capacitor and it has burned out. Mine worked 6 weeks before it happened. Problem is figuring what capacitance it is as it is not labelled with any identifying numbers.

Kodak M1063 flash is not working

about the flash its could be from the menu setting look if its set to on or the flash bulb or the flash circuit ; wheres you have
a long capacitor for the flash charge may have change in capacitance value or bad soldering in the flash circuit
please do not attempt to open the camera cassing
its could be hazardous because this circuit keep the charge
for a long period of time and you can receive agood discharge
wheres that make you step out!!!

hope that that will help

Everytime I turn on my camera it says : Turn the power off and on again. It flashed the error E or F 91:01.

It sounds like you have a FLASH FAIL error message on a Sony Cybershot.

This solution was provided by acem77 at agorarequestdotcom:

1st I ordered the service manual from http://servicemanuals.net/index.html
2nd I downloaded a RM95 emulator program. this program actslike/replaces the remote commander sony techs use to change settings.
http://stanza.techfocus.net/camera/rm95.zip in side the zip is the RM95EMUL.EXE and RM95DUMP.EXE
3rd I made the LanC Interface Cable on this web site http://www.hardwareanalysis.com/action/printarticle/1464
the steps above save you $200 in service tools. The cable parts cost about $12 the manual cost about $30.
I can sell you a cd copy cheaper if you have the same camera.
when you are ready plug the cable you made into the (ext flash) or (lanC) port on the sony camera.
Put your camera in play mode and turn it on. Then start the RM95DUMP.EXE program in a dos prompt.
Type (RM95DUMP.EXE>factory.txt) this will save a copy of all the setting of the camera to your pc.
Now you did that run RM95EMUL.EXE.
You will need the service manual to know what settings to change.

I had to change these addresses to unlock page d with the flash error setting.
Set address to (reset all values to default after page d is changed and saved)
Page: 0 .address: 01,and set data: 01.
Page: 2 .address: 03,and set data: 00.
Page: 2 .address: 00,and set data: 2d.
Page: 2 .address: 01,and set data: 2d.
Page: 2 .address: 02,and set data: 01.

Cant change this setting until you change the above settings
Page: d .address: 67,and set data: 00 (if you have an error this will be 4 set it back to 0)
Write/save the new change to memory

Have new Nikon D700. Have Mets flash gun. Have

Even older flash units from the same manufacturer can damage newer digital cameras. It's a matter of the trigger voltage. Older flashes can put a lot more juice through a digital camera than the camera can handle.

Since you neglected to specify the model of your Metz flash unit, I can only suggest you look it up here.

Problem with the flash of my camera

Hi

Your flash is defective and needs to be replaced.

One solution is to look online for a defective camera and use the parts to fix yours. Another is to buy a flash from someone like us who sells new and used parts and performs repairs if you can't do it yourself.

Please feel free to check us out, Google: Darntoothysam and you will find us, I cant post a link.

Thanks and good luck from Darntoothysam com

Flash stopped working but camera is fine.

the camera uses a xenon flash tube. it operates off what is called a capacitive discharge circuit. a low dc voltage is stepped up to over 7 thousand volts to flashover inside the tube. try doing a search for replacement xenon flash tubes.
