TV makes high pitched noise

Hey there This is a problem similar to the one below but i have more details to add I noticed after a recent move my TV is making this horrid high pitched noise. After running through some quick trouble shooting i noticed it didnt make the sound when the Xbox 360 was running. My xbox is running into the TV using component. While trying to figure out what was differnt about the xbox, I went in and changed the output on the xbox and cycled through the different HD output settings. Turns out it makes the sound in every mode but 1080i. Could the issue be the same as stated below? Thank you for your time

Re: TV makes high pitched noise

The fix for this was so easy.

Turns out it was a Pharite(spelling?) that was vibrating. It was resting on top of one of the coils and was vibrating. The tech removed it and the problem went away.

Re: TV makes high pitched noise

In 1080i the horizontal frequency more than doubles from 480i. This means that possibly the high voltage transformer or a linearity coil is occilating at that lower frequency.

My sansui tv makes a loud high pitch noise. I have had it 3 years, it is a a riging noise, and hard to hear the tv shows. what do i do?

ever since for ever, ive always heard a loudish high pitched ring from analog tv's. e.g. i would know a tv was on in another room even if it was muted. ive told other people about it but they dont seem to hear what i hear. so im gonna geuss either

a. analog tv's all make that noise to a verying degree but most people just dont notice it or subconciously cancle it out as normal.

b. its a kind of hyper sensitivity to high pitched noise, in essence, tinitus.

on a final note, its not medical as i always pass my hearing tests. but to answer your question, either buy a digital tv or turn up the volume.

High pitch noise

Sorry to hear about your issue, let me see if I can help.

What type of tv is this? tube or flat panel? If tube, have you recently moved it and shook it up a little?
If panel, are you using an hdmi hookup or just regular cable from a cable box?

Be sure that your hookups are on tightly and that your cables are not tangled as well especially hdmi cable. Let me know if any of this is helpful in solving your issue or if I can be of more assistance. Once you respond I can help more, just need more information..

High pitch sound coming from circuit board, cannot

First, you will want to isolate the problem. Is it feedback from an AC outlet you have it plugged into? Is it a recent noise that just started with no changes to Tv or its environment, then you may want to consider that a circuit is going and decide if it is worth repairing, You should find that type of fix at a shop for under $100

Same problem, high pitched noise over regular sound and no pictur

No guarantees with this diagnosis. But it sounds like an HT ( high tension) leak This is often caused by the lead becoming partly unplugged ( being bumped or moved) and because of dust buildup it arcs making a high pitched hissing whistle.Ther lamp may also have been affected by the HT leak. The safest option for you is to call a service technician to it, as opening it up could cosntitute a a danger to the unskilled.

Trouble turning on tv. High pitched noise/click.

The mainboard might have some loose components, or cold solder , or may be the filter capacitors are becoming faulty. Yes it is worth repairing, bring it to the repair shop. Cheers.

Sanyo tv making high pitch noise from loose cable connector

The noise is coming from the fly-back transformer. By moving the cable connector you move the main board. Unplug the TV and remove the back. The transformer has a red wire going to a rubber cup at the top of the picture tube. Looking at the transformer you will see a dough nut shape with a metal piece going through it .. Drive some tooth picks between the dough nut and the metal core. That should reduce or stop the ringing.

Weird noise over everything

According to the Samsung website: "The high pitched sound you hear is probably coming from the flyback transformer. The flyback transformer converts the relatively low voltage electricity that comes from the outlet in your home to the high voltage electricity needed to drive the cathode ray tube in your TV. It is not unusual for a flyback transformer to buzz softly when it operates. However, if the sound is loud and high pitched, it probably means the transformer is failing. To eliminate the sound, you will have to get your TV serviced."

High Pitched Noise

most high pitch noise comes from the anode conection on the picture tube thats connected to the flyback anode cap thats mean there is a high voltage leak,to stop the noise you can discharge the high voltage take off the cap and clean with alcohol.if the noise will have to put some red or clear silicone both the cap and tube stick together leave to dry for about 2 to 4 hrs.this will eliminate the leaking.good luck.

TV won't turn on, makes high-pitched clicking noise

Its a real good chance that the HOT (horizontal output tranistor) transistor is shorted if so the flyback trasformer may be bad also. the transformer will make a tick tick sound if it is trying to start.
