Try this steps:
1. turn off your phone, remove the battery and also remove the sim card and memory card from the phone.
2.put the the battery back on
3.press and hold * , call , 3
4.while pressing those 3 buttons, press on/off button until u see the format wizard on the screen.

i just got back ol... the call button is the button u press when u receive a call... indicates with the green phone icon... the steps i told you is soft reset. if you still having trouble with the soft reset, try hard reset by pressing *#7370# and then press the call (green phone icon) button. when it asked for your security number, just insert 12345. you might want to charge your phone before u try the hard reset because if the phone had interupted while performing the hard reset, it will be more difficult to fix your phone... good luck, hope this will help you.

Hi the easiest way to format your E5 ,just type *#7370# and enter the security code 12345 or what you have made.This is the fastest solution.
