Bravia kdl40v3000 hd chanels have only sound but not picture. What could be the reason?

Yesterday I launched a new cable provider having digital chanels, some of them HD. With the regular digital chanels everything is fine but with HD there is only sound, the picture doesn't appear. What should I do in order to fix this?

First if HD via component or HDMI the hookup or more likely the box if used is your issue---some sets will require a firmware update for certain boxes to work--I am guessing but guess you may be using HDMI.

If you mean whether I'm using HDMI socket- no. Im using the regular antenna socket via inbuilt digital tunner.

SOURCE: Sony BRAVIA KDL46S2010 Sound and Pix not in sync - in HDTV channels only

This is a software issue with both the TV manufacture and the cable box provider. This will only be fixed when the cable company and TV manufacture sit down and work out their problem. Some cable company has taken the first step by updating cable boxes with different software.

SOURCE: Sony 52" Bravia LCD will drop picture and sound for 1-2 seconds

the only thing that i can think of is that the cables and connections are bad but if that is not the case it may be the internal components of the tv. my guess is that the tv was dropped or jumbled around while transported and what happened was internal components were broken or just mixed up so go to the retailer and get a refund or a new tv. hope this helps

SOURCE: Bravia & Sky+HD, aspect problem

There is nothing wrong with you Sony Bravia TV and it suppport all HD and SD formats.

Are you viewing the HD version of the channel when it is showing a standard defination show. e.g SKY1 HD instead of SKY1.

This means that regular standard defination shows are in a 4:3 ratio and does not fill the whole screen. In order to view these type of shows you will need to tune to regular channel instead of the HD version.

You can check if a show is brocast in HD by going into the tv guide and checking for the HD symbol in the programme symposis.

PICTURE SEEMS TO BE BLURRED WHEN ITEMS MOVE FAST ON SCREEN, ESPECIALLY PERSONS IN CLOSE UP.

The Sony Bravia KDL-32BX320 generally gets excellent reviews (4.5 stars out of 5) from owners, so I have to wonder what you're watching.

This is an HDTV and should excel when provided an HD signal to display. SD (standard definition) signals often look worse on an HD display than on an SD display. An HD signal is only available via the following ways (reference the image below):9_27_2011_4_28_11_pm.jpg
1) An "over the air" (UHF / VHF) antenna is connected to the cable / antenna input and there is a broadcaster of HD content nearby (only an over the air antenna can input HD signals to this jack - no cable boxes, etc.).

2) An HD Cable TV, DirecTV or Dish Satellite set top converter, Blu Ray Disk Player (or other HD source is connected via HDMI or Component RGB jacks.

3) An HD video played back from a computer hard drive connected to the VGA jack (when the computer is equipped with a modern processor and video card).

You will NOT be able to view HD video if:

1) The source material is a SD (non-HD) source. An over the air antenna will not provide HD signals if the broadcaster does not have HD content to show or is not capable of broadcasting in HD. Digital is not necessarily HD.

2) The source material (other than over the air antenna) is connected via Antenna / Cable jack.

3) The source material is connected via Composite jacks.

The USB jack is generally not an input for motion pictures, but may display stills - depending on the TV's ability to play the format they are stored in (jpeg, gif, bmp etc.).

Hopefully, this will help you solve the problem you're having with the picture. Good luck!

Unable to get sound on chanel 5 of my 19"

that issue is related to the televison channel itself or your cable provider. If its cable call them and tell them about it, they will come and fix it. If it is Dish Network or other provider the same holds true.

With my Sony Bravia 46" xbr the screen keeps cutting out. I'm usig hdmi cables and can't find a reason why te tv keeps cutting out. The sound still remains but picture doesn't. Not even out technician can...

Usually this happens to my set when I am in HD cable channel mode after being on a non-digital ANALOG channel.

I basically reset the TV by changing to a DIGITAL cable channel -- stay on that channel for ten-twenty seconds -- then I switch back DIRECTLY to a HD channel (key in channel number directly on remote).

TV works fine -- seems to be a glitch when the TV changes modes from Analog to HD

Hdtv picture freeze

I also have a Brand new Sony Bravia 52" LCD with Comcast Cable (motorola box). When switching between HD Channels sometimes the left side of the screen shows a smushed version of the new channel, and the right side is a frozen picture of the previous channel. I correct this by switching to a non HD channel and back. Cable or TV problem I wonder?

Sony bravia 40" hd lcd gets picture but no sound from cable box

You will have to go into the settings of the hd box by pressing the settings button twice and then scroll down to "audio digital out". chances are that it is set to Dolby Digital. If you right arrow over you can then set it to HDMI. this should bring your volume back. Hope this helps.

Picture freezes on Sony Bravia 46 in

this can be a weak signal check the connections on cables. also in hot weather you can get a build up of static electricity and it will need to be discharged, turn off tv at mains and cross the connector and the cables if you have a buster or other box connected to them turn off and do the same to them. use something metal but make sure there is no power to them.

I have a sony bravia kdl-26m4000

Cable boxes have notoriously flaky HDMI outputs. I have seen No pic and no sound with their HDMI outputs as well as a host of other problems. You can try getting the cable box replaced; unfortunately I have seen multiple cable box replacements not fix the problem. The best solution is to leave the component cables connected; you're not losing hardly any resolution/picture quality by using the component instead of the HDMI. Solution #2: switch to a satellite provider. I rarely see HDMI problems with satellite boxes
