How can I rectify red rings of death on Xbox 360 ?

Red ring of death can not be rectified.. It is a hardware issue that needs replacement. Once you received any error message on the screen that starts wit "E" like E74, these are hardware issues. The three red lights on your console can not be fixed, its microsoft alone who can fixed it, if your console is still on warranty, you ca send them your xbox and they will replace your xbox with refurbish one but at least working. You need to call Microsoft for this process.

Thank you for choosing www.fixya.com.If you have any other issues under the sun, just post your questions here and we will provide you the answer.

E74 over heating

Lay your xbox 360 on its side don't leave it standing up and don't use intercoolers it only blows dust into your console let it cool down for like an hour or two if that doesn't work don't put a towel over the 360 because if it gets too hot it may set your house on fire so take it back let the people who sold it to you try to fix it or use the warranty on it and get another one or fixed.

Xbox 360 e74 error

Having the e-74 code is when the video chip on the 360 over heats and becomes un soldered your best bet is to turn the 360 on with a towel over it and wait for 3 red lights the call microsoft and tell them the 3 lights issue dont mention the 1 light or it will cost you dearly around 150$

Xbox not reading discs

This E74 represents a dead lens issue. try unplugging for a 5 minute period and plug back in. this should reset the board. if the E74 comes back on your screen, this is a dead lens warning. it will have to be repaired by a local tech shop or Microsoft tech.
