Question about Apple iPod touch
ITunes will only let you restore the iPod if you turn it off, hold the menu button and then plug in the usb cord connected to the computer as you are holding the menu button. the iphone will start in recovery mode and itunes will offer the restore. after that you will be password free, but your data will be erased, if you did a sync recently though, you can restore it from itunes. i work for an iphone repair shop and we do this repair frequently.

You can soft reset and hard reset your iPod Touch if it’s frozen or not responding.
Try a soft reset first:
1. Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button on the top of the unit until a red slider appears
2. Drag the slider.
3. Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button until the Apple logo appears.
If a soft reset doesn’t work, try a hard reset:
Press and hold both the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button for about ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
Or else try ....
f your ipod is disabled because you forgot your password. Connect it to your computer make sure you have itunes installed do the reset by holding awake and sleep button with home button at the same time once it resets hold only the home button down until it connects to your itunes and asks you to restore the ipod
