Bought a new unit. The old unit was a surround sound system in which the previous owner removed the speakers. I wasn't aware of the problem but found out that it would not allow it to play on Dolby 5.1...It would only play DVD's on channel 2, therefore no english etc. Thanks for your help!!!
I had this problem, till i went into setup on my remote then chose audio and noticed all the speakers for surround sound were turned on in the options. As i don't have surround sound i turned them off . Now it works ! The player was sending the sound to non exsistant speakers. Hope this helps
GeorgeHavem- Have you played the same format on your dvd before, cause if not it sounds like your dvd will not accept the format. If your unit plays regular dvd, then it sounds like a format problem, let me know. cooltekFeb.18/08
