Question about Televison & Video
When the TV is in HDR mode the audio is horrible but video is perferct. When switched to BYPASS audio is good. I'm thinking it the HDD inside. There is an 30Gb Seagate IDE HDD inside. Do you think that would fix the problem if I change the HDD inside the unit or do i need to look else where. Also when you record a show or something in BYPASS, when you playback it sounds the same as it would in HDR. Only when you have something that is played from the HDD that the sound is bad. I will try to change HDD when I get one available. I would like to add an larger HDD to increase recording time/space eventually anyway. Please reply.

I kept formatting DVD's until I got the unit to work. Mainly, it was some DVD's I had earlier problems formatting. I tried two new DVD's (Maxell DVD-RW) and they worked thus far. I truly think the unit needs to be taken to authorized service center for evaluation or minor maintenance. My suggestion is to verify the DVD's will work with unit. Try to use better quality ones like TDK or Maxell. Thanks for responding to my problem. If I have others, I will contact you.

I CONNECTED SCART TO TV 1 TO DVD FREEVIEW SCART 1, THEN I VCR SCART IN/OUT TODVD FREEVIEW RECORDER SCART 2, THEN RF CABLE FROM FREEVIEW RECORDER OUT TO VCR RF IN ,VCR RF CABLE OUT TO TV RF IN. RF SLOT IN ON FREEVIEW LEFT EMPTY THEN CHANGED TV TO AV 2 WHEN USING TO RECORD /PLAY EITHER VCR OR/ FREEVIEW DVD . I DO HOPE THIS HELPS SOMEONE. IT TOOK ME A WHILE TO SORT OUT REGARDS R. ELLIOTT.

SOURCE: PV-GS9 mini dv playback problem
I covered several threads that recommended buying a Mini DV cleaner and
running it up to 4 times. They also suggested to change to change your
video tape as it may have been the cause of the original problem.
These solutions may have worked for many but not me. My camera was becoming progressively worse. It went to blue bars and no sound to no picture at all...just blue. After using a cleaner 4 times I became frustrated to the point I was going to buy a new camera.
However, with the camera still playing, I did the typical guy thing and rolled up my fist and gave it a good hit along side of it. Remarkably it went back to just the blue bars. I hit it again and it went back to a perfect picture. I'm not saying this will work for you and hitting it too hard could make things worse but I was at a point where I didn't care any more and took a chance that paid off.
