Question about Hitachi P42H401 42 in. Plasma HDTV

1 Answer

No power Hi my son hit the reset button on a powerboard that my plasma was plugged into and it tripped the meter. I went and flicked the meter switch and all other equipment came back on but not the plasma...can you help? I've tried pluggin it straight into the wall. I've turned on and off the main power switch and sub power. Still no lights showing.

    I have a Hitachi 42HDF52 plasma TV and it won't turn on. It doesn't look like any power is getting to the monitor as the red/green indicator light is not even light. If there was a power surge that triped the internal fuse on the TV, how do you fix it?

Philips 42PF5320 plasma - unplugged and plugged in. wont turn on

This is a common problem on these plasma TV's. The problemresides in the high voltage boards known as the X and Y Sustainboards.. You can purchase them here for a very reasonable price:
http://www.discount-merchant.com/Y-SUSTAIN-FOR-42-PLASMA-TV-PN-6871QYH036A-p/sku9510.htm

The above link is to a Y-SUS board. The X-Sus board is often the 2nd cause of failure and can be found here:
http://www.discount-merchant.com/X-SUSTAIN-6871QZH041B-6870QZE017D-6871QZH052D-p/sku9509.htm

Totest which board is failing, you need to check voltage input to theYSUS board first... Input should be 120V from Power supply, outputshould be above 250V.. Do this test with XSUS disconnected. IF 250+Vexists, then XSUS is damaged. If not, then the YSUS is the faulty part.

Brand new LG plasma stuck on test screens

Resetting the TV
If the buttons on the remote AND the buttons on the TV case do not work (channels do not change and you cannot open or navigate the menu), the TV has stopped responding. Reset the TV as follows:

NOTE:
Some TVs have a reset button. If available and accessible, try using the reset buttons before using the steps below. Using the reset buttons can save time.
1. Unplug the TV power cord from the power outlet.
2. Unplug any connected devices (DVD, Set-top boxes, etc...)
3. Press and hold the TV power button for five seconds.
4. Plug the TV power cord back into the power outlet and turn on the TV.
5. Open the on-screen menu to confirm that the TV is responding again.
6. Turn off the TV and reconnect the devices.
7. Turn on the TV.

Hope it may help you;

Regards;

it could have over heated you can try to reset it first unplug it for about five minutes and try to turn it on if that dont work the remote might have a set button try holding that down until the red light flashes twice, then turn it on if not then hold the power button down on the set for a good five seconds to see if that resets it. if none of that works you will have to go to panasonic .com for the reset instructions.with the red light blinking the power supply is most likely good you just need to reset i.
