Also, in system, ensure you are set up for PAL or SECAM instead of NTSC (USA). I am assuming you are in the British isles.

My friend, just check the connection, if you are using the 3 wires (red, blue, and green) change them all. Usually this happens when one is bad.

Files not show/recognized when connected to the tv and movies not playing

Your movies have to be converted into .avi format. There are many websites to download video format conversions depending upon your PC's operating system. Once you have found the right software, you will have to attach your Ext HD, then open each movie & click 'Convert to AVI'. Once completed, you can delete the original. Helo sir,how to download movies

That depends! If you want to view a movie that a TV channel has shown, you can Google "catchup 'TV Channel name' film 'name of movie"
eg: 'Catch up ITV4 Film The Winner'
Each channel has their own pet name - eg BBC call it iPlayer.
If you want a paid for movie or something like You tube movies, go to http://www.wikihow.com/Download-a-Movie which has clear instructions

Red colour appearing on screen

Your tv could have one of several faults. None of which are to be tackled by anyone except a qualified engineer due to the electric shock hazard.the first problem could be the crt (tube) the second could be the componets on crt base circuit board ie resistors or ic.
With a tv 9 years old it may not be economical to carry out a reair.

There is no colour on the movie

Make sure you have the cables hook up right. If you are running component mode it takes three for video blue red and white ends. If you are running composite it takes red, white, and yellow.

it depends on what your using it for, adjust colour tones to what you think looks natural, contrast between 80-90, keep sharpness below 30. just have a play around till you find what best suits the source material.

Having problems connecting dvd player to my tv

Hi,

Normally a DVD's output would be:
Yellow - video
White - audio left (in some models mono)
Red - audio right

Based on your post/description, your movies will play normally. You simply left out the red (right output) hence you will not get stereo effect (which is immaterial since your TV is mono).

The correct procedure calls that you connect the red & white to a stereo amplifier.

Alternately, you can use the adapter shown below to connect the white & red and make them a single RCA male out.

Hope this be of use/idea. Pls post back how things turned out or should you need additional information.

Good luck and kind regards.
