Take the image of your Current OS using Norton ghost software utilities. It will save all your hardisk data.

Hi I want to format my laptop pavilion dv6 just C drive without losing my data in other drives using backup drive? thank's

You cannot format c drive while windows is running. If your operating system is in c drive then you need an operating system disk to reinstall and while doing this you will be asked to format your c drive If you want to format c drive without loosing data then simply transfer your data to another drive on your computer and use operating system disk to bot your computer Wait for the setup files to load and choose fresh installation option You will be asked to choose the drive to install OS and you can select c drive Then you will be available with an option to format c drive and install OS It will not effect other drives on e computer and your data is safe After installation of OS you can browse through other drives to retrieve your data. Hope this helps or you can ask for clarification if you need Thanks

What key to press in order to reformat my toshiba satellite L510 laptop

If you are using Windows, go to Start > Computer Right-click on the drive you wish to format and select Format
This will obliterate all stored data and OS files. It is not a process to consider unless you intend to sell your laptop or give it a fresh install of your OS. If you don't already know how to format a disk, I don't recommend you make this decision without asking a more computer-savvy friend for help.

  • If He has reinstalled the OS by formatted the partition , you can't able to restore back but if you don't want the data in the drive please re-partition the drive and install the OS newly
  • if he has updated the OS without formatted the partition, please upgrade the OS again or but if you don't want the data in the drive please re-partition the drive and install the OS newly
  • If he has done any other changes, you can able to restore by Run-->restore-->rstrui.exe--> select the preferred date, where you want to restore and give next, please wait still it restore and get rebooted.

How can I format my Screenplay Director?

Formatting the Data Partition

The data partition on the ScreenPlay Director is formatted with an NTFS file system and will appear as a read-only volume under Mac OS X unless special software is installed on the Mac. If you need to transfer files to the ScreenPlay Director by direct USB connection on a Mac, you must reformat the data partition to FAT32 (see instructions below).

NOTE: On a network connection, Mac OS will see the ScreenPlay Director as a shared SMB volume. This means you can use the network to copy files from a Mac to the ScreenPlay Director without changing the format from NTFS to FAT32. (Recommended if available.)

If you reformat the ScreenPlay Director data partition for use with a Windows PC, it is recommended that you use the Windows format utility to reformat with NTFS. Right click on the drive letter for the data partition and select Format.

CAUTION!

  • Do NOT change the partitioning on the ScreenPlay Director as this will remove the firmware that enables the ScreenPlay Director to communicate with your TV set. Only media files stored on the active data partition can be viewed or played on a TV.

  • Formatting the data partition will erase all existing data! If you have files on the ScreenPlay Director you want to save, move them to another drive or volume before reformatting.

How to retrive the data after formating harddrive

If you format your system all data will be lost unless you have access to some very expensive software and hardware

You can do a repair function in XP Pro if the OS is flaky ?.

If you want to format the drive becasue the OS is sick take it out and put it in another machine , that way you can extract any data files you may need

Before you format it have you got all of the drivers etc for the motherboard and other peripherals if not you will be in deep doo doo after you hit the format button.

Last but not least have you got the keycode for the OS which was installed on your machine

looks like the MBR is corrupt. You may have to do a soft reinstall of the OS (without formatting your drive or you'll lose all data). JUST PLACE YOUR os DISC AND RUN IT.
