You will only see Properties (for controls) if a form is in view and this should be the same for tools. Open a form and see if that was the issue.

are you using MS SQL 2005? if so,

try this one:

1.open your MS SQL Server Management Studio,
2. connect to your data server and locate the database that has an issue on disk space
3. Right click that DB and select properties,
4. a new window will open, on the upper left part, select Files, now you may notice the settings for initial size of your DB.
5. on the autogrowth column, click the button corresponds to your database.
6. a new window will appear and displays options for your database autogrowth settings,
7. set your desired configuration, apply and your done,.

INSTALLATION REQUIREMENTS a compatible version of visual studio 2008 was not detected on the system. this update is designed for only microsoft visual studio 2008(ENU) product family, and is not...

The software you're trying to install is an upgrade from the Microsoft Visual Studio 2005 Professional edition. If you do not have that version of Visual Studio installed, you won't be able to install the upgrade.
However, I would recommend you downloaded the Visual Studio 2010 Express edition, it's fully functional and I used it for a long time before upgrading to the professional edition. To be honest the only feature I use in the professional edition is the addon system. Plus, the 2010 Express edition is free and available for anyone.

How to disable command button in visual basic

  • tep 1 Open Visual Basic and select "Standard Exe" to create a new project.
  • Step 2 Add a button by clicking the square button tool on the right, and then clicking and dragging in the main window.
  • Step 3 Click the button once to open the "Properties" window on the right. Select the "(Name)" property, and type "myCmdButton" as the name.
  • Step 4 Double-click the button to open up the code-view window. Type the following in the white space under "Private Sub myCmdButton_Click()":
    myCmdButton.enabled = False;
  • Step 5 Click the blue "Run" button on the top toolbar of Visual Basic. Because you set enabled to "false" in the previous step, you will see your button grayed out, and nothing will happen when you click it.

Cannot Install Visual Studio 2008 on Windows Vista

    Hello,
From the message you get one infers that this is not the full program, but an upgrade to a previous version of Visual Studio. Even if you have a Visual Studio Express edition already installed on your computer, this update is not compatible with it.

    Hope it clarifies the message.

I am trying to connect to a SQL Server 2005 DB from Visual Studio

You must create an ODBC connection to your SQL database in the Windows Control Panel. Than you can call your ODBC connection via Visual Studio 2005. You can also create a DSN in Visual Studio 2005 and reference in that way. You will not be able to connect to an MDF but instead you have to connect to the SQL Server Service. Of course the username you use to connect must have access that will be created on the SQL server.
