61sbx59b, All green LED's come on, Red Led comes on dim, then flashes bright, then, all greens go dim & Red flashes dimly...
Two ways to approach this--the red should be on all the time---as for the others you have to look to see which goes out first or last---each is connected to a voltage source--a primitive self check.
Voltage checks usually don't reveal much==the voltages will come up and go down instantly.
If that red is dim and flashing it is at the input of the primary part of the power supply

Remove the lamp assembly, There will be a screen on the top and bottom of the assy remove all dust from these screens. also check the tube at the top of of the lamp receptical this is an air cooling pathway. reassemble and fire it up. This worked for me and saved some serious coin judging from some of the other solutions I have seen (lamp and balast) ouch!!!

You likely have a bad lamp. It could also be a bad lamp driver, but I'm betting a lamp change will solve your problem. Buy an original Sony lamp only; the aftermarket replacements are cheaper but you get what you pay for and they can cause problems. Please be sure to rate this solution. Thanks!
