First thought check for the wireless switch. It is normally located on side of the laptop, some models have this button above the keyboard. Make sure it is turned on. You can normally tell if it is by the color of the light by the switch. Blue = on, Red = off.
If this is not the case answer the following question to help narrow the search:
1. Has the computer connected to this network before?
2. Can the computer connect to anyother network (e.i. at a friends house)
3. Were any updates install?
The on and off button for the wireless adapter is located on the top middle (above the keyboard). The button appears as an antennea and has a blue light when it is active (not necessarily connected) and an orange light when off (disabled).
You should have a switch or button on the laptop to turn wireless on / off .
Do you have a little blue antenna with waves around it on the on/ off panel of the laptop(above the keyboard?
You should have the little computer with a red X in the bottom by the clock.
If not go to start control panel networks and sharing add wireless network it should show if not then it is turned off or not installed properly.
