No particular reason why, some questions just get missed, sorry to say.
The reason your MIL is still on is because there still is a problem. It may be the same code, or it may be another code, but you need to scan it again for what it tells you. The light is not on from the old code that you had worked on. It is on because the computer still recognizes a fault, whether the same problem or another. I hope you had the codes erased with a scanner after the fix, or it will confuse the tech with the new code and any old codes not erased. Be that as it may, your light is still on because of an on-going problem. The computer would have recognized the original problem as not recurring and would have turned the light off. But it is still detecting a fault.

OH YES !!!! u have to get ur car computer scanned right away. Theres surely a problem on the way, and before it gets worse, get it scanned and u will easily get to know what needs to be changed. So instead of changing 3-4 things when its gets worse, its better to change only the thing which is required right now.
DO IT RIGHT AWAY !!!

Take your car to your local autoparts store and have them pull the codes - this is free at most stores. Post the codes when you're done. This can be caused by anything - even as simple as not tightening your gas cap (you should hear the clicks - it doesn't damage the cap).

When you say malfunction indicator , do you mean `check engine`` light.
These paired lights can indicate a change in engine air flow and fuel mixture. Try a fresh tank of premium fuel, but first a unscrew and re-screw the gas cap until it ratchets into place. The lights can be triggered by a loose gas cap, a fouled O2 sensor, and several other emission related problems including sticking throttle body components, etc.
This can sometimes be sprayed with carb cleaner inserted in the snorkle area of the air intake where teh snorkle meets the metal intake.
Testimonial: "Thanks for the reply, it was a loose gas cap once tightened it all cleared. This was very helpful."

usually a sensor has gone bad. have it check by a mechanic on the computer.
