Handle broke off when Vacuuming?

So what do you do when the handle snaps clean off when you are vacuuming? My husband was vacuuming the front room and when he pulled it back the handle came to him, but the vacuum landed on the floor, with a thud. Any ideas, why or how this could happen? Any suggestions on how to fix it?

The screws where there, it broke off near the top, so we just used lots of duct tape, not so pretty, but it works. I guess we could order a new part, but again, since the vacuum is only 85 dollars new, and yearly filters total upwards of 40, we'll just buy a replacement after a year. Thanks anyway, not really sure why I posted on this forum, other then I found the site. Just thought it was interesting that the handle would just snap right off.

    Thanks.

Two screws hold that handle onto the machine. Maybe they weren't installed when the machine was put together.
If it broke part of the dust compartment, it's probably not worth fixing.
If it broke part of the handle you can order a new one for about $30.00. It's part #75765-2.

Filters on a lot of those bagless machines are way too expensive. The are made to sell filters. Bagged units were always better filtration, and less expensive. But if you have to have bagless, you might look into a Bissell next time. Usually the primary filter on those are foam washable filters, and they should only run you about four dollars if you have to replace one. Just something to think about.

My Hoover Linx handle broke.

Not sure what you mean by a broken handle, but if you mean the plastic is cracking where the handle connects to the main body than I have a suggestion. We have had this happen a couple times and I tried various fixes that did not work. However, recently I found a cheap product that will strength the handle to make it stronger than new. It called Fiber Fix tape (its on Amazon). Wet the tape and wrap the handle. It is a quick set epoxy in a fiberglass like cloth. Dries very hard. Not pretty, but it works great.

Hi.

If you look at the front left side of machine there is a removeable inspection port it will have 2 coloured buttons you press these in & pull it up to remove.
Now pull handle back as if vacuuming the floor.
Now where the inspection port was you will see that there is a square hole pull forward on the flap in front of square hole it pivots just behind the round rubber seal.
Slowly lift handle back up at the same time The part with the 2 long grooves in it must go under the flap as you lift handle.

Brush roller won't turn

On my Dyson, there is a brush reset button on the top right hand side (if you are looking at the front) that you can press to reset the brush. I was vacuuming and too lazy to move a toy and this worked for me once I freed the rope from the brush.
