Question about Gateway M-6755 Notebook

1 Answer

I have a gateway m-6755 series laptop/notebook power issues

When I go to turn the computer on the power button and the wireless button on my finger pad just continuously blink. My screen remains black and the computer does not come on and these lights will blink for about two minutes and then just shut off, I try again and the same think happens. I have heard the suggestion of it may be in sleep mode and to hit the power button again to make it boot up, I tried that and still nothing. Your help would be greatly appreciated with my wife and I both in school and no money to afford a computer technician, because we have four children to feed also.

Thank You
Brad Woods

Do you hear any clip rattling around in there? I had one fall out and zap the motherboard, resulting in the EXACT same problem. Had to replace the motherboard.

Gateway Laptop(MODEL M-6750): The power button keeps flashing blue and so does the wireless signal. I've tried removing the battery, holding the power button nothing changes.

Does it do this when it is plugged in? Try to power it up with no battery, and see if it acts differently, it may be a battery issue unsure. Is the computer working normally except for this problem?

Hi, I have a Gateway M-6755. Lately, I am unable to power up the laptop. When I press the power switch, the lights briefly turn on for 1 second and then go off. Tried he same thing repeatedly ending in...

You might try replacing the CMOS battery, if you haven't done that already. It will require some disassembly of the laptop, depending on your model; please refer to manual for specifics. Leave it out for half an hour or so, just to be sure everything is reset. And be sure the computer's (regular) battery is out as well.
