I bought a used Toshiba satellite m35x-s311. While loading windows xp on the hard drive a stop error occurred. I removed the hard drive and put it in another system and it loaded xp without problem. Since then, I have tried at least 15 different hard drives on the Toshiba but it can not detect any of them including new ones. It keeps saying no hard drive. Do I have a bad motherboard?
Thanks
Ify
I just responded to this. But I would also suggest that you check the memory on the laptop. It may be causing the Stop errors.

If you tried several hard working drives on this unit. Then I would say that you have a motherboard problem. Check the pins on the hard drive connect on the motherboard. If they are ok. then it is MLB.
