Loose Fuel Line In the Gas Tank

The fuel line inside the gas tank of my chain saw is disconnected and laying in the bottom. How do I remove the tank and reconnect the line? I do not have a manual. I need to replace the spark plug also, but do not know how to get to it. The only numbers I can find on the saw are 60013203 and 11-050364 but model and serial number is not specified for either.

Drain the fuel tank first, then the outer case must be removed from around the engine. This exposes the plastic tank. The loose fuel line is normally attached to the inside of the rubber plug which is inserted into the tank. Pull the plug out of the tank and fish the loose hose and filter assembly out of the tank interior with a bent wire hook. If the hose is cracked or stiff--replace it. Use the proper replacement hose as it needs to flop around inside the tank to pick up fuel when the saw is operated on it's side. Hope this helps.

How do you hook up the fuel filter line inside the tank on a cs400

If you go online and search for the drawings for that saw you will see that the fuel pipe enters the tank at the top through a grommet. You will have to pop out this and then pass the pipe through this after passing it up through the hole from inside, long nosed pliers or tweezers will assist. Once you have that done stuff the grommet back into the hole and don't pUll it out again!!!!!!!!

How to repair fuel line on craftsman chain saw model number 358.360260 16 inch bar . how to do it .

Fuel lines are generally fixed by replacement of the fuel line because the rubber it is made of deteriorates from age and alcohol contained in gas. Before you begin, make a mental note or take a picture of how the fuel line runs from the tank to the carburetor so you will be able to put the replacement in the same position.
On most chainsaws you need to take some wire, make a u-shaped end, which will be used to grab the fuel filter in the fuel tank. Drain the fuel in the tank. Disconnect the fuel line from the carburetor. Generally there are two lines on the carburetor, one for fuel, the other line creates suction used to pump fuel and is connected to the motor, not the fuel tank . Just disconnect the fuel line, it is usually on the side of the carburetor and will leak gas when disconnected. Once this is done, using the wire, gently grab and pull the filter towards the filler opening and using needle nose pliers grab the fuel line above the filter and pull. The problem you may have, is if the fuel line is in bad shape it will break, But once you have the filter off the fuel line, the fuel line can be pulled out from either the inside of the tank or from where it comes out of the tank and goes to the carburetor. Once it is removed you are ready to put the new fuel line in.
It is best to put the fuel filter on the fuel line next. It easier than trying to put it on inside of fuel tank going out. Spray some WD40 or equivalent, on the outside of the gas line, to help the line squeeze through the whole in the back of the tank, which it will have the go through. From the outside of the tank, where the fuel line comes out, fish some wire inside the tank and put the fuel line on the end of it, making sure not to pierce or damage the fuel line. If needed a piece of black tape will hold the wire better and help fit the line through outside hole. Once the fuel line is on the wire, pull it through carefully out the other side of the tank. It is best to use your fingers to pull the line through the outside hole, it makes it less likely the line will get torn or overstretched as line goes through the hole because of the extra rubber used on the line to seal the tank from inside and outside. Once the line is pulled through and seated, run the other end to the carburetor and you are done.

Replace fuel line in husqvarna 141 chain saw

The fuel line on the 141 is very small and wasn't really meant to be replaced for some reason, as it is a pinch fit. Buy the smallest fuel line you can, usually 1/8th OD inch fuel line. Remove the air-filter and the carburetor. You will need to drill out the
current hole a little bit, so go slowly. As soon as the new fuel line will fit _tightly_ insert the line. You will have to remove the hand-bar and the
anti-vibration bolts to separate the motor mount portion from the gas tank which is part of the hand grip.

Apply some gasoline proof gasket sealant to the space between the gap, else you will have a gas leak from the tank sooner or later.

Reassemble the grip and motor sections back together and let the sealant dry for a day or so. Put the carb and air filter back on and attach the fuel line to the carb and the other end to the fuel filter in the gas tank.

Is there a fix for bar oil running out of the saw all the time until the tank is empty?

there is bad oil line repalce it.

Is this the correct routing for the fuel line? Starting at the filter in the tank, will the line go to the bottom of the carb.? Then the line goes out at the top of the carb. to the primer\'s suction side? Then out of the primer to the fuel tank? This route the primer pulls gas through the carb. Does it make any difference which hole in the tank the lines go to?

YES that correct

Need to replace all gas lines

  1. Empty the fuel tank on the chainsaw of any remaining fuel. Pull the cap from the tank and turn the unit upside down. Drain the fuel into an approved fuel container. If the fuel is old (more than about a year) dispose of it according to local regulations for hazardous materials. (It can be kept longer by adding a fuel stabilizer.)
  2. Pull the fuel line where it attaches to the carburetor using the end of the needle-nose pliers. The old fuel line may take some force to pull free from the metal tube.
  3. Push on the fuel line to feed it into the fuel tank. Hold the chain saw upside down. Shake the unit to get the fuel filter into the opening of the tank. Pull the filter free of the tank. Feed the remaining fuel line through the access hole at the bottom of the tank. Dispose of the filter and old fuel line in accordance with disposal regulations.
  4. Feed one end of the new fuel line into and through the bottom access hole of the fuel tank. Push approximately 6 to 8 inches into the tank. You can pull back any excess line later. Grab the end of the plastic line with the needle-nose pliers. Bring the line through the gas tank fill opening.
  5. Attach the new filter to the end of the new fuel line. Feed the filter back into the fuel tank. Pull any excess line from the tank. You will want approximately 3 to 4 inches of fuel line inside the tank.
  6. Route the new fuel line to the carburetor. Cut the line to length with the cutters on the needle-nose pliers. Attach the line to the metal tube.
  7. Fill the fuel tank with fresh gas-oil fuel for 2-stroke engines and start the chainsaw. It may take a few pulls to prime the new line with fuel.
  8. Some models come with a priming bulb. Make sure you press the priming bulb three to four times before trying to start. This will prime the gas lines and remove any excess air trapped in the lines.

I need info on a Poulan Pro 445 fuel line routing

I'm so confused. This is reported as a Poulan and McCulloch pole saw, which one? Is it a pole saw? That is the only 445 Poulan I can find. It is reported as an electric but has a fuel routing problem.

If it is a Poulan Pro gas pole saw it is here: PP445 Gas Pole Pruner
The fuel system routing is terrible, but it is all there is.
Fuel Routing follows:
Tank to carburetor (hose in tank with filter on free end)
Carburetor to primer (primer draws fuel from the tank through the carb)
Primer to fuel tank (returns any excess fuel to tank when pushed) HTH

Fuel lines

Line into tank isn't easy to pass. I made small hole in line near bottom, tied 30 pound fishing line to it (with knot inside of tube lumen), passed line through opening from above, and with fishing line pressure pulling gas line in, I squeezed tip of gas line entering tank from above with needle nose pliers until the line went into tank. Then i pulled excess through until i could trim tip (with knot) through gas tank opening, and then reversed line pull back into tank. Trim other end to fit onto primer exit port.
