Hi there-

First of all you need the driver which I have found for you here.

Then find the USB cable that came with your camera and connect it to both your camera and pc. After doing so, turn the power of the camera on. Go to "MY COMPUTER" on your desktop and you will see a new addition to the usual "C:/" and "D:/" devices (might be called an external device). Double click to open and you will be able to access all of your pictures.

To make things a bit easier, Windows will usually recognize when you connect a camera (after downloading the driver) and will walk you through the uploading process. The above is a "just in case".

Hope this helps.

I am trying to find the manual for the DXG599V camcorder I purchased from HSN so I will know how to use it - it came with the users set up guide but that does not tell you how to use the camcorder

The DXG company website does not list a model DXG-599V. There is a DXG-589 and a DXG-595 model which may be similar to yours. To download the Manual for either of these cameras go to the the following link: http://www.dxgusa.com/downloads and find the appropriate model.

Hope that helps.

Uploading pics

- Connect the smaller end of the USB
cable into the USB port of your DXG.
- Connect the other end of the USB cable to your computer's USB port.
- The Digital video camera’s LCD Panel will turn on and will display
the PC Connection Menu
- Press the select button up or down button to select Mass Storage
Device option on the menu screen.

Goto my computer, you can see new 1 drive appear (or 2 if you have SD card in your DXG). So now you can copy/upload your pictures to your computer hard disk.

Is there a way to attach a dxg 305v to a mac running lopard

Your camera should have come with the cable that is needed to upload your images into your Mac. But you will need to upload your images into a photo program (like iPhoto) to store and manipulate them. Once the camera is plugged in and detected, iPhoto automatically imports them into the program. It will store both still and video images and has some pretty good built in editing features. Hope this helps!
