You can go into safe mode (F8 at logo when booting up) and enter as administrator and then go to accounts and change Windows password and that's with XP.

If the method above can't help you, you can use one of the tools:

Windows Password Recovery Tool

Windows Password Reset

SOURCE: just want to get rid

As soon as you press power, keep tapping F8 until another screen comes up. Select reinstal windows / operating system or restore factory settings from the list given.

Hope this helps and please rate.

PS this way you do not need a disc it reinstalls the OS that is already installed on your hard drive.

How to factory reset

Hello!

Did the system come with a Factory Reset CD? If it did, use that.

Factory restore

You can use the disk that came with the computer.
You should have an operating disk i.e xp windows 7/8. This will have most of the basics follow the prompts and select to reformat partition
and a driver disk.
This will install your cd-rom and such things like internet connection.
It is best to have these disks before your start.

I have forgotten my password to my dell c521 computer, not the system password

As far as I know, there are a lot of tools and utilities that can be downloaded and used to recover, retrieve, reset windows password. However, I've tried a couple of these utilities through the years. The free software can help you, but you have to learn some computer skills and waste a lot time on learning. If you want to save more time, maybe Google third party password recovery tool or Google Window Password Seeker can help you.

You need to boot up with an xp pro cd
from there you can wipeout and reformat drive with windows
before you do that you need to get your xp key from the computer
any other way is just putting a band aid on it
