I recently have been having a problem with my internet. I will be on it checking email, myspace, playing games (whatever) and after about an hour or so (the time varies) when I go to click on a link or go to another site, the internet gives me that page that comes up when your not connected or the web page is no longer available even if im going to Yahoo. I check my internet connection and I still have a connection but it wont let me back on. When I run a diagnostic on it I get a thing that says "cannot connect to ask.asredir.com"
If I wait a few minutes to an hour and try to get back on the net...It comes on without a problem and im able to surf again (until it does it again).
I suggest to remove ask toolbar, to do this go control panel, click add/remove programs and select ask toolbar and uninstall it.
ask is just like ads program that makes your net busy.( its happen to
me before but after removing ask toolbar my net runs normal)

The answer is yes and no...
Yes...If you are wanting to get on the internet to surf, check email and other net activities, then you will need the internet provider service to get you on the net such as at Starbucks, Mc Donalds, or any other "hot spot" or a home internet provider.
No...If you are going to play games, check and make notes with note pad, anything that does not involve the net
In otherwords anything that involves the net, email, surfing the net, watching YouTube, etc will not work without the internet provider service..

Hello, There are a number of things that can cause this, namely your internet speed. Make sure you have high speed internet with at least 10mbps download and 1mbps upload for best results. Game play can also be affected by wireless. If you are connected to your router via wireless, try using a network cable instead. If your wireless signal quality varies a lot it can cause disruptions in your connection. If you have any P2P programs running such as emule, limewire, torrents, etc... Shut them down as they tend to sap your upload speed which in turn, affects your game. If your computer is not that fast and doesn't play the game without online mode very well, it could be worse online being you are now rendering more elements into the game. Lastly, EA Servers may be over loaded at peak hours which could also affect your game play. Check your internet speed here http://www.speedtest.net and also your link quality here: http://www.pingtest.net Make sure your ping is at least below 80ms and your link quality is A or C. Any less and you may have trouble playing some online games. And again, for the speed, it's good to have at least 10mbps download and 1mbps upload. My connection is 50mbps download and 3mbps upload with ping grade A and ping 3ms, so I have never had any problems myself with online games and real-time streaming J Hope this helps! Chris
Netbook's are made for casual internet browsing, email, document editing and pictures, not really gaming machines what you can do is visit this site too see what games can run on your net book, http://www.canirunit.com
ok for one your title is wrong, ps3 can never get red ring of death only xbox 360, now about your problem for starters to get your old email, try looking on the play station network on the computer preferably and try to request your email.
and because your ps3 froze up its the internet line maybe because people download the maps at the same time as you at a 95% chance that they would.
so depending on your internet connection if its wired then you would want to get wireless presuming you have the money for a wireless router, and they come in forms G for like its a 15% worth playing online with it then its MIMO thats like a 25% worth playing on the net with it, then we move onto N and its like a 55% worth playing on the net and N+ its 95% worth playing on the internet because thats the max sort of net connection you can get.
so if this is any use to you hope it was anyway
I'm wondering if you can't play .mp3, .wav or other audio files on your computer, or just Internet Explorer, or just specifically myspace.
First try: Open Internet Explorer. Select Tools from the Menu list. (If you do not have a menu list, right click the gray area below the url bar and select menu bar from the drop down list)
Select Internet Options from the Tools Menu. Select the Advanced Tab. Scroll down to the Multi-Media heading. Make sure that "Play sounds in web pages" is checked. Close Internet Explorer, re open and test.
