Question about Creative Labs ZEN V Plus MP3 Player

Creative Zen V Plus won't turn on, computer won't recognize.

Hello, I'm having a little problem with my Creative Zen V Plus. I was putting some music onto it one day and this little bubble popped up saying that the "device in USB port has malfunctioned and the computer no longer recognizes it". When I unplugged it it wouldn't turn on! And the battery was fully charged. Just to be sure, I plugged it back in to try to charge it and my computer won't recognize/charge it anymore. I've tried the reset button many times, I've tried all the solutions I've found for people with similar problems and nothing works! I want to try to find a way to fix it without taking it apart (I'm saving that as a last resort if possible).I never realized how amazing an MP3 player is until I had to go back to CD players...
Is there anything I can do or is this a lost cause?

Creative Zen V Plus mp3 player: during download from Napster, error message received on the Napster site unable to recognize. I removed the player from the USB port & reconnected - next message STMP3600 and Windows XP "device manager" recognizes the device as Player Recovery Device Class - generic - Location 0 (STMP3600). I cannot turn on the player, used the reset button (for several length of times), downloaded drivers ... any help is greatly appreciated.

Out of nowhere, my computers (3 of them) quit recognizing my zen v plus. Tried cleanup, resetting, reformating, but it won't load firmware without the computer recognizing it. Any help, short of sending it back to Creative?

I plugged mine into the USB port and it was fine, but then a little later when I unplugged it the screen was still black but my buttons are still lit up. I tried everything, can anyone help with it????

I have the exact same problem as you! I was worried that I broke it somehow. The screen used to freeze up before and I'd just let the batteries run out and I'd re-charge it. A couple of days ago I tried to turn on my Creative Zen V Plus and nothing happened. The blue lights on the buttons light up but nothing comes up on the screen. I tried re-charging it but no battery sign comes up on the screen and my computer doesn't recognize that it is even plugged in. I tried the reset button a few times but nothing is working :(

I might try taking it apart...

I had the same problem after I powered of my computer from standby. I couldn't turn it on. Went to work, plugged it into USB and it didn't recognize it. Took it home plugged it into USB and it still didn't recognize it. Tried resetting several times and it did othing. Gave up amnd ordered a new one.

Then later while talking on the phone, I absentmindedly enplugged the cable at the computer end (MP# still connectedd to the other end) and plugged it back in. Itpowered on and is now fine. Blew my mind!!

My V Plus was playing in the travel speakers. I left my office for a half hour and it was DEAD when I came back. I tried resetting it, charging it, plugging and unpluging USB to my laptop, thumping it on the table, etc. It has been more than a month. Tonight I decided that if I took it apart per the youtube video and it didn't fix it I had nothing to lose. It was not difficult to take apart and reassemble but it did not fix it. I was looking at your suggestions here and decided to give it another USB jolt. It worked! Its acting like nothing ever happened. Go figure. Maybe it was the combo of taking it apart and pluging into the USB? Who knows.

Computer wont recognize mp3 player

Hmmm when you plug it in to put music on it do you use the sync manager thing? thats what i use and sometimes it says theres no player connected even though there is, so i just keep plugging and unplugging until it works.. but then if that doesnt work i just go to  "Zen v series media explorer" it like lets you upload music there too.. hope you find something that works!

Creative Zen Nano Plus 1 GB

The way to fix it is, on your PC, you make folders on the Zen Nano drive. Title those folders as you want. Then you put all of the audio into those folders. And hopefully when you turn on the device, the audio will be in folders. Good luck.
