Wiring diagram for a 3-way switch, one of the many wiring diagrams showing different methods of wiring a three way switch circuit. This electrical wiring diagram shows power into light switch Box #1 – wire to light from switch box #1, and from switch box #1 to three-way light switch box #2.
Usually, there is no way to remove the wires from the switch. Turn off the circuit breaker that powers the circuit going to your fan. Then, match up the new switch with the old one to make sure you have the correct one, with the correct amount of wires. Mark the placement of of these wires with masking tape or draw yourself a diagram. Next, you need to cut the wires as close to the old switch as possible, and strip back about 1/2" of the insulation on these wires. Now connect those wires to the leads (wires) coming from the new switch with small wire nuts or crimp fasteners. When connecting the cut wires to the new switch leads, follow the same pattern as the old switch (refer to your masking tape labels or your diagram). Now you can secure the switch to the fan casing with it's locknut, and carefully tuck the wiring back inside. Re-secure the casing to the fan.
you can if the power switch/reset bottun/power led/hdd led are not proprietary and banded together into a single **** plug. and if the mounting holes and setup will accept a gateway motherboard. but the power switch pin setup is what is the deciding factor in this switch. two wires going into a two prong female little black plug. the same for power led, reset switch yada yada. your gaming case is going to have these. if they match, then go for it it will work. oh and be sure to check the distance between the processor heatsync and fan combo to the power supply. some cases bunch them too close together and in some cases they wont fit in the case, i.e. the powersupply being 2 inches into where the cpu cooler unit should be :(
Post the type and model # of your motherboard. I don't think there is any generic way to hook them up. You will need to find it in the manual. Have never seen a MB manual that does not show the pin placements.
