That set is a beauty if it is equipped with the built in DVD player--they were all poor quality---only possible but not easy thing is it can be got at by removing entire front grill beneath the front screen and has only a few plugs to actually remove the unit.

I presume you have tried to change inputs with the remote etc.

SOURCE: dvd stuck in dvd

Lay the TV, face down on a folded towel. Remove all the screws. Note: there is one perimeter screw with machine threads; all the others are the same.

Remove the four black screws from this area:

Then you can pop the back loose and slide it towards the end where the black screws were. It just lifts off and there are no wires attached.

Now you can see the DVD player. I used the end of a plastic pen to shove against the edge of the DVD that you can see through this slot.

Press on the DVD's edge until you see it come out the entry slot.

You can see the DVD slide out the entry slot as you are pushing.

When done, slide the back into place and replace the screws.

Soniq tv with built in dvd player says no signal on dvd mode

DVD unit has gone to dvd heaven. Not cost effective to repair. See if you have inputs so you can use an external player.

Dvd, sound, no picture

If your DVD is external, I'd check TVs input settings: if your DVD on "progressive scan" mode, it delivers video signal via "component" connections: green, blue, red plus 2 separate red/white for the sound. If you trying to use 3 wires: yellow, red, white( composite), good chance, that the only sound is delivered. Try to switch DVD off 'progressive", if you only have 3 wires. It will deliver "picture". Or, verso-visa: using "component", 5 wires, but DVD set off "progressive scan". I've seen that confusion many times! Unless you have 'built in" DVD player. no matter what, it's must be broken! Use external DVD player, instead! $30 and trip to the store, will solve your problem. Don't want to fix TV, if everything else is alright. Myself, I never liked those "combo" units. You got stuck with mediocre TV and lousy DVD player. Better: separate them!
Good luck,
Alex.

My husband inserted a dvd into the dvd player of our insignia tv/dvd player. The player kept ejecting the dvd. Now the tv is stuck on dvd mode and will not respond to remote prompts.

#1 TRY AND UNPLUG THE UNIT. I HOPE YOU DIDNT BUY A TV/DVD COMBO.. THESE ARE WICKED $$$ to have fixed.. if it is never ever use the built in player ever again ! buy a stand alone unit from wamart for a few bucks and if it goes bad they fit well in the trash,.. so if it still isnt responding the back of the tv needs to come off WARNING if you break the screen the tv is junk, so sett it on a good flat spot , remove back, locate dvd player and un plug it from the tv.. this will take it out of the circut and with luck give you back control of the tv..

I have a large screen TV with a built in DVD player. How do I switch from the DVD player to TV? After using the DVD player I cannot get the TV to come on. Thanks.

Most likely there is a TV button on the remote.
Try turning it off then on.

If all else fails, try pressing Stop about 3 or 4 times.
Then it will stop the movie and the DVD player mode.

DVD player won't eject

No but I'm having same problem and the dealer sugested just buying a new dvd player cause cost of repair or replacement is unbelivably high, approx 500 canadian for new dvd sleeve, the guy tells me they don't fix them they just put a whole new dvd player in from hthe manufacturer. Pretty disapointing considering how nice it is to have it built in.
