Question about Office Equipment & Supplies

Hello- I haven't ever hardly used my desk jet and am trying to hook it back up in my new home. It will copy items-but I do not know how to get it to print from laptop, and i'd like to know how to use the scanner. As far as I know- all the software is still on my pc, and all cords are in appropriate places. I don't know what the deal is. Please help if you can. amy ross

    A little information, please:

What is the printer model number?
What operating system (WIndows XP, Vista, Mac) are you using?
Were you ever able to scan, and was it printing properly before you disconnected things to move it?

What desk jet model do you have? It would be a good thing to reinstall the software. If you don't have the disk(s), just go to the HP website and download it. Then try it again.

Sounds like they are encrypted with your old key. I don't expect you can get into them without setting up the old key in your new system.

Need an assembly instruction manual for an Office Depot Aspira computer desk, item #429-160

Purchase another identical desk from the same company.
Remove the instructions, photocopy them, and then put the instructions back into the new packaging, and return the second desk. Use the photocopied documents.

Hello,
traditional hard drives are sensitive devices and it is normal for them to fail even after such a shock. It is even recommended to not move a hard drive while it is spinning.

If you do not need the data on this drive, replacing the internal hard drive and then formatting with your operating system is all that you have to do.

If you need the data, you will need to bring the drive to a data recovery center, There is nothing you can try at home without taking the risk of negating any possible chance of recovering the data.

No matter the brand and type of storage device, it is recommended to always have a copy of important data on a different media.

Hello

Unfortunately this is a matter you will have to clear with Microsoft themselves. You will need to explain the situation to them, and they will be able to give you a new product key.

At the link below you will be directed to Microsoft's help desk.

Hope this can be of help.

HP Desk Jet 842C printer - need cable

Hi Debbie,

You should be able to use this printer with a USB cable. You can pick up a USB cable just about anywhere that they sell computer or printer equipment. Just tell them you need a USB printer cable. This is a standard item and no further description is needed.

The Driver for this will probably be a native driver, and you probably wont have to download a new one, but just in case, here is the link for the driver directly from HP.
