You posted this in the desktop section I am assuming that this might be for a laptop? If it is then you might have gotten a bad battery. This does not normally happen, but it is possible.
Another thing that could be affecting it is the power settings. If you have the power settings set to maximum, then they will drain your laptop battery super fast, and about an hour sounds normal.
Another factor that might run a battery down fast is heat. If a laptop is used without proper airflow underneath it, it will drain the battery fast also. To solve this, you can use your laptop on a flat smooth surface, like a desk or table, or invest in a USB laptop cooler pad.
