Have a hp all-in one

Look inside the printer at the ribbon which has the gold contacts on it which line up with the back of the black cartridge. There may be a small pinhole in the ribbon which indicates the little metal cartridge bar has pierced the ribbon. If this is the case the printer is broken. Check all tape has been removed from the cartridge and rub the gold contacts on the back of the cartridge with a cloth and try again
